Watched the whole game. Tyrone made that OT look stupid all game.

Even more amazing, Tyrone caused the OT to have his worse/lowest game score of the year. That is saying a lot for Tyrone, considering the competition the OT played against. :thumb:

Dude held/tackled him almost EVERY play to keep him out of the backfield. Almost felt sorry for the guy.

This performance by Holmes coupled with the trajectory of the Program should leave no doubt in the minds of our recruits that they made the right decision to come to The University of Montana. It should also make the decision to commit - for those who are still "deciding" - very, very easy.

Well done Mr. Holmes.

That was a great read. thanks for posting this! :thumb:

Montana’s DE Tyrone Holmes spent the majority of his reps lined up opposite Mississippi OT Fahn Cooper (more on him later), and took full advantage (+4.2 overall). He posted three hurries, a run stop and forced a holding penalty, all against Cooper.

As highlighted above, Mississippi OT Fahn Cooper simply did not have an answer for Tyrone Holmes. Cooper looked stuck in quicksand at times, as he struggled with the edge speed and inside quickness of the former Montana Grizzly. His overall grade of -5.5 was the lowest of the game, and his lowest grade of the season.

That's impressive. Top grades for the players of both teams:

DE Tyrone Holmes +4.2
S Michael Caputo +2.7
RB Daniel Lasco +2.6
QB Vernon Adams Jr. +2.6
OG Jake Brendel +2.6
OLB Anthony Harrell +2.3
DE Victor Ochi +2.1
ILB James Burgess +2.1
DT Javon Hargrave +1.7
P Will Monday +1.6

It wasn't even close... he spent so much time owning that poor OT that had to block him that he was 1.5 ahead of anyone else on that grading chart.

I really hope he gets a legitimate shot in the NFL. Would love to see him end up in Denver with Wade Phillips and his aggressive defense :)

Also, kudos to VA for impressing too. Even though I've thrown a lot of smack EWU & and shooter's way, I'm hoping he gets a real shot (no pun intended) in the NFL.

Re-watched the game focusing solely on Tyrone & James Cowser out of Southern Utah. Great game by Tyrone! Abused the tackle often in passing situations & more than held his own against the run. Was impressed at how he handled the double teams against him, he seems stronger out there. In contrast, Cowser seemed slow & over matched, totally ineffective, & was absolutely man-handled against the run, pancaked numerous times. It's a shame the BSC gave him Tyrone's award, he's nowhere near the level of athlete of our Mr. Holmes.

Except Holmes coach is now at Hawaii. :(

This performance by Legi Suiaunoa, coupled with his career trajectory and the trajectory of the program should leave no doubt in the minds of future coaches they made the right decision by coming to coach at the University of Montana. It should make the decision to accept the coaching offer, for those who are still deciding, very, very easy.

While Legi does deserve a ton of accolades for the talent he's produced on the D line, it's worth pointing out that this last season the d-ends coach, Hendricks, was Ty's coach. Hendricks is now our full D line coach.

Geez BW, some of us organized a search party. Going through the insight & analysis DT's is no fun. Please let us know when you're going missing for a week or more so we can queue up some your prior posts to get us through.
