Easley and Lynch in D2 Tourney

For those interested, Corey Easley and Brian Lynch are both playing in the Division 2 National Championship tournament. Minnesota State (Easley) is a 4 seed, while Seattle Pacific (Lynch) is a 1 seed. The layout is a lttle different than the D1 tourney, with each region (4 regions) having 2 #1 seeds, 2 #2 seeds, and so on, up to 8. Still 64 teams, with 16 in each region, just 2 of each number up to 8. Good luck to both.

I hope Easely wins, he always looked good when he came in for us. I am still speechless because Roy Booker averages 22 points a game for SEWNENENFDS Missouri St.

Booker may have averaged 22/game at SE Missouri but his team finished 7-20, next to last in their league, didn't make the conference tournament and, unless he has some eligibility I don't know about, his career is all through.

Booker was the biggest black-hole in Griz history. He always scores a lot, because he never passes. What was his Shooting percentage? How many Assists/game did he have? How many Turn-overs?

He'll never be a team player. He'll never "get it". He won't listen to coaches. Getting his ass off the team was the best thing that ever happened to this year's team. We would NOT have as good a record with Roy Booker.

Well I looked up Booker's stats and they are as bad as I figured. People who see 22 ppg and think Booker is a great player don't know hoops. He had 504 FG Atts and another 200 FT atts. So he put up around 600 FG attempts. The 2nd most attempts on the team had 249 Fg ATTs, less than HALF of Booker's attempts. He averaged 36 minutes/game (964 minutes), yet was 3rd on the team in assists and had 30 more Turn-overs than assists. 35.3% FG shooter, 31.3% from 3-point land is terrible. He almost attempted as many 3-pointers (233) as anyone else on the team took FGs (249). Does that sound like a good team to you? In fact their 2 leading scorers had the worst 2 FG %s. Yeah I wish we had that guy in our line-up.

The last game of the year he was 5-18, 0-5 3 pters, another 10 FT atts and 1 assist in 37 minutes. But an "impressive" 18 points. Some may say Booker is a great player on a bad team, but he is a terrible player that causes any team to be worse than that would normally be.

Criswell has put up 269 Fgs and 141 FT atts for comparisant and shot 49.8 and 43.6%. Criswell had more blocks (2 to 1)and more steals (38 to 17 in 848 minutes and was a plus 17 on the assist/Tos., +47 better than Booker. In 116 more minutes, Roy had only 6 more rebounds and assists and 26 more turn-overs.

Btw Strait has led us in FG Atts with 316, almost 200 fewer shots yet only 5 ppg fewer than Booker because he shoots 63%. Who would you rather have take shots? Booker or Strait and Criswell?

Interesting research...his numbers look a lot like Ricky Davis for the TWolves. He always puts up 20+, but he shoots about 30 shots a game and KG is touching the ball about half as much since they got Davis from Boston for Wally Szcerbiak.
