early season hopes

as we wait out our schedule...

Do we get any PAC 12 or any other western contenders in Missoula this BB season? Had so much fun in the last games of 2012 at home and hope we can get some interesting early season games to ramp up and continue the game time environment of last season.

It seems about time we get some news about who or whom may be on our schedule in late fall,as our conf season will likely start early with so many new conf. teams.

Never been more excited for a Grizzly hoops season. Can anyone argue against Cherry and Jamar being the two best players in the league?

I would be very surprised if the Griz did not get a Holiday or similar tourney invite, especially in Hawaii or maybe Alaska, or Puerto Rico....I think the Big Sky is beginning to make some big waves....should be fun, no matter what.

thanks to damian lillard as well. two years ago harrison barnes was the top high school recruit in the country, yet he was drafted one spot behind a player from the big sky. i've been giving my tar heel buddy a bit of grief over that--and he's still smarting over harold "the show" arcenaux and weber's upset of carolina at the big dance in 1999.

Nobody will want to come to Missoula. May get Oregon State again (this time payback) and that's prob the extent of visiting UM.

not with a straight face i don't think. with lillard gone, these are easily the 2 best players in the conference. i would be pretty damn excited if i was a griz hoops fan. kind of the opposite of what i feel right now being a cat hoops fan. not much to be real excited about as of late....

Definitely excited for Griz BB season. I agree that Cherry and Jamar are easily the two best players in conference. Weber is going to be doing some rebuilding I think this year too...losing both Lillard and Bamforth is going to hurt them. They'll be good again no doubt, but nothing like what we usually see from them.

For the Cats, losing Reid had to hurt... He was really playing well towards the end of last season. That situation with Fall is pure bullshit too... He should have been allowed to play his senior year for the Cats.

The turnover of players in the big sky this year is really surprising. The conference is losing 5 of its top 6 scorers and only returns 3 in the top 10 with cherry and jamar being two of them. The conference is also losing the top 8 players in rebounding. It would certainly seem that the conference ripe for the taking. Hopefully we can answer some of our questions in the middle.
