Dylan McCaffrey joining Dad at NOCO

Can he make that pinpoint pass AND catch it, run for tough yardage, move the pile??? How's his defense. Must be great on special teams. Can he kick a 70 yard FG? Injury proof?
He is ONE player. ONE. Not the second coming.
He's be a great addition to a good team, but...

Wow, the hate and ridicule towards UNC is pretty harsh. I thought some would think this is great for the conference. It isn't every day a drop-down gets mentioned on front page ESPN, and Adam Shefter tweets. I would not be surprised if Luke McCaffrey does not join the Bears too, maybe not as a QB, but a wideout, other position.

I think with this addition, along with McCaffrey's ex-Wolverine teammate True Wilson at RB, the TCU wideout transfer, and others on offense; and new transfers on defense like Xander Gagnon from Duke, Uryan Hudson from CU, Komotay Koffie from New Mexico State, and RJ Potts from Cincinnati, UNC will compete as a top 3 team in the conference. The roster has been overhauled, and it was much needed.

Yes, agreed. And as I said earlier, much like Sanders at Jackson State, brand name is everything. And when McCaffrey has success and moves on to greener pasture, those high profile transfers will stop and they’ll sink back into mediocrity.

I absolutely do not think Northern Colorado will have success. Put me down that Ed will NOT have success and move to greener pastures

Just another perspective. I recall Georgia Sourthern, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Coastal Carolina, etc. start their programs from scratch. I also recall a few kids go to HCBUs rather than to Power 5 schools. I also remember every high school coach made certain they had Joe Glenn's videos in their library when he coached in Greeley because he was successful there with the Wing-t.

This is a pretty good article:

They will be contenders in short order no doubt. recruiting will be strong and besides the feed lots are a big attraction and selling point.
As is the award-winning "stadium." But you can drink beer in your seat there....

Wow - What a concept, maybe the Griz should adopt that policy! Ha Ha!

GA Southern's football program started in 1924. They suspended the program during WWII, so you must be thinking about their restart.

Good revenue and better attendance at the start of the 2nd half.

he's still from the state north of Ohio.

I think NoCo will be much better. This kid is a good QB with a bit of experience. He's athletic. 6'5", 220. Our family expert, my son, thinks he could dominate the conference if they can upgrade their supporting cast.

I assume NoCO will attract some good transfer receivers and other players, because of the McCaffrey duo.

"He elected to opt-out of the 2020 season. He still has two years left of eligibility "

As the family attends St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Quebec in Centennial I know several high school coaches in Arapahoe and Douglas County also attend church there. Plus a few of the other schools up the road like Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village is only four or five miles away. There's a lot of natural talent in the area and the kids come out of high school fundamentally sound. I believe there's going to be a rapid improvement with Northern Colorado's program. But, what do I know?

So did this talent pool just start or did the previous coaching staff just not take advantage of it? Or maybe the talent wasn't in football? Why has this not resulted in sucess in the past, except for an occasional flash in the pan? Are you saying only McCaffrey can turn this into gold?

well one thing is for certain they won't beat the griz in regular season this year..you can bet the bank on it. I still think they will be tough and will finish closer to the top than the bottom.

Yep. Joe Glenn did okay there. I kind of prefer out there to the places like Mike Hayter's part of town the last few years.

Stranger places have become nice areas to live and work.

Top 3? Really?

I can understand optimism, but that's a little ridiculous for a coach that hasn't coached a single college football game.

Since joining the BSC, UNC has taken the Sac State 2000-2012 torch, except with crappier facilities, and worse weather. At least we can both drink beer in the stands if there’s ever another game lol...
