Dunking during pre-game & halftime warmups.

Looks like the rules have changed and it'll be allowed now. Previously it'd result in a technical foul. According to This Article it'll be allowed now.

That always seemed like a ridiculous rule. Glad it's being changed!

This is great. During the conference tournament, before the refs came out, the students were getting pumped with the dunks being done by the players. Dunn and Breunig in particular did some jaw dropping dunks. The only GRIZ who did not dunk was Bradshaw. I saw Gregory dunk finally. Another player threw down a few pretty sweet dunks too, but for the life of me cannot remember who it was. I was surprised though by the dunks he was doing.

A pretty good guess would be Jack Lopez as your unknown dunker. I remember Lopez doing some spectacular dunks during the warm up dunks. Lopez has some serious hops! :thumb:

Somebody, not necessarily a Griz is going to get too jacked up and hurt themselves, maybe break their hand or tear off a finger. Then all the geniuses will be second guessing the decision.

And somebody, somewhere will break a backboard. And the fans will have sit around while it is being replaced. Ahh.... memories of Nate Colville!!

Players have been allowed to dunk in the pre-pregame warmups (before the refs come out anyway), so I doubt this will change much in terms of injuries or broken backboards.

I think it's a positive change since it'll make the pregame warmups a little more exciting and maybe get a few new younger fans to start following Griz hoops.

College Basketball has been losing fans in attendance for awhile now. It great to see there are efforts and changes to make the game more fan friendly. PG hit the nail on the head. The student body was going nuts in the pregame warm ups when the GRIZ were dunking. They were disappointed when the refs finally made it onto the court. This is a great change. Now the trick of getting the fans/students to stay parked after the 1st half.
