Drop Down QB

Well I'm not sure who a drop down would be this time of year, but its not the kid from Stanford. If it was there might be a few concerns. If a kid with his brains and goals would give up a free Stanford education to play in the Big Sky (even for the Griz), he has apparently had his bell rung once too often or all the hype about his brains is just that and he won't have the decision making ability to be a starting QB.

We'll be fine.........

Disagree 100%. We have a veteran offensive line a group of RB that would all start on other Big Sky teams. Establishing the running game will be key to the success of the team with or withou JJ. If the Griz can run the ball the QB will find guys running open on playaction. It won't be that bad. If we didn't have a running game and we completly relied on the QB and his arm I would be worried but we do. My bet is that Canada goes off this year much like we saw from Chase after Lex left.

THIS! I don't see the qb's attempting more than 15-20 passes a game - with a lot of them on play action.... especially early in the year - as the season moves along and the qb becomes more comfortable we might see the pass attempts move in the 20-25 range.....

I will say this concerning the drop-down QB situation....... if we do NOT get one, and I think we will, we will not win more that 6 games with the QBs currently on the roster.

Lay off the hooch. It is effecting your judgement.

we will be just fine with S-H at qb

never have understood the argument of Kemp at qb, the Tebow of Griz football-the guy has lots of talent, and on occaision is the guy to run the wildcat when needed for a change up but not convinced he can pass with any effectiveness.

So, if S-H is a bust....McKinney...we gave em both scholarships so they do belong here.

Who knows whom a drop down could / might be. I wonder if it could be Jerry Neiuhiesel (sp) out of UCLA. Isn't his dad former coach Rick?? Jerry looks buried on depth chart and if his dad is Rick why stay? Plus there are some ties with with Hauck etc etc.
At point unless this drop down played in a similar system, I don't see them making a huge impact. I think we count on Mckinley or Shay as our starters.
Let's just get football underway already pleeeeeeeeaaaaassssse.

whom?... it's who

UM Grizzly Athletics, about eight minutes ago on Facebook:

Attention University of Montana students: We will have an exciting announcement at the end of the day. Stay tuned...

I saw that and came right over here for the scuttlebutt, but there's nothing new.. Hope it's actually very good news.

I'm sure glad you made such a dire prediction! :thumb:

Your history on here shows that your predictions turn out exactly opposite of any real outcome
about 92% of the time.

So, this means there is a far greater likehood that the Griz will win just like they always win 9-10 games
or they will win Zip Zero nada.

Last I knew (2 months ago) the Griz had a line on a so so QB that had played (started) JC ball his frosh year and if he came would end up a soph. Not sure we are after him now or the what situation is. In any event 3 QBs at the start of the season would be good. Yes, forget about Kemp!

This post is exactly why you should stick to making a total dick-breath out of yourself with your playground obsession with the Bobcats, and not try to pass yourself off as knowing jack sh*t about the game of football. You need to grow a pair, and stop using Secret deodorant. Electro-shock therapy may help.

Sorry I just gotta say it....

but will the new QB be a real ass man??? How it works with his center is critical.

wonder how much we will see the shotgun formation..... i think early in the season we see a lot of qb under center and pounding the other team with Moore, Canada, Nyguen (sp?) & Kirschner......

Just out of curiosity, if Nate Montana were still at UM, where do you all anticipate he'd be on the depth chart to start fall camp?

I know many people thought he was the best QB on the team to start the season last year, however, Jordan Johnson was clearly the best choice to lead the Griz team. Would Montana have been a better choice over Shay S-H or McKinney?

If Montana were still in camp, he'd be the obvious starter...he's the ONLY one with significant in-game experience.

Transferring at the particular time he did was a VERY dumb move...
