PR I agree with alot of your posts and I agree with standing up for Hauck [not sure I have been sayin much about Hauck] and Sneed.
AZ has a good point on coaching in second half. Simply put Griz coaches, OC in particular took the crowd out of the game [How did OC take crowd out of game? Note that early in 2d half, much of crowd was out of the stadium] and Sneed’s turnovers started with the INT in the red zone with a late throw outside [Note that UM was down 7 at this point, and had just given up 25 points in a row; correct bad throw], good play by DB, but blame goes to Sneed on that one FG would have been huge at that point. [Are talking second half, not first? If so, I agree.]
More specifics, the O-line needs help. Solution dink and dunk and extra blockers (TEs). UC Davis did this all game their coaches protected O-line and QB with dink and dunk [Agreed, but note that some Griz fans diss Sneed and the offense for short passes; guess it's okay for Maier] plays until Griz came unhinged thn they poured it on.
Second half the Griz got a couple chunk plays and became inpatient and forced plays. Coaches didn’t prep players [How didn't they help prep the players?]. One play Bingham was blocking and there was no defender in front of him, he just stayed in a blocking position out in open air instead of getting into a route or turn for a QB dump off option [I didn't see the play], I would venture good coaching would have prepared Bingham and Sneed for those situations, play result, incompletion playing 10 on offense.
When the momentum started to swing all the sudden three and four WR packages while Griz still had lead, putting undo pressue on O-line and QB. [I don't recall the specifics, but not that we had 2 rb's off with injuries and 1 had just fumbled, at that point. Don't know if that was a factor.] Result more mistakes, while UC Davis is dinking and dunking, chip chip chip. Goes back to coaching. Fourth down failure coaching season stats prove Griz can’t convert short yardage run. [This has been a problem all year.] Bootleg and or pass or just punt the damn ball, coaching decision can’t blame the players for that one.
TEs and threat of Sulser made positive impact in first half, coaches went away from those plays in second half. JLM has been denutted by the coaches compared to where he was at the start of the season [I am all for using JLM more.] , Hill committed to play TE for team, how has he been rewarded? There is plenty of talent on team the coaching staff is responsible to protect the weaknesses they see them everyday and they are responsible to accentuate to strengths.
Hope this staff gets a handle on things fast, the players are playing hard and are buying into what the coaches ask of them.
I still blame last three losses on Bobby, he needs to get 100 out of the way. [I don't agree with you at all, but you are welcome to your opinion, of course. Coaches don't fumble and throw picks. Coaches don't get penalties. Coaches don't miss blocks. Coaches don't miss tackles. This being said, I'm not giving the coaches a pass either.]
