I wonder what their up-start program will be and why they don't understand UM is up 12-0 over the years. How in the hell will Stitt get upstaged? Yes Everettgriz, that was hard not to laugh at....

I find it hilarious that they had 5 posts! An up and coming program needs a passionate fan base to support them. Nice try.

lmao, scared of Idaho State? Okay, well put them in line behind EWU, NAU, Cal Poly, Weber and even the Kittens as far as teams that actually do well against us

I guess those few ISU fans dont understand we are an up and coming program too. We have just as much or more room to improve too. I think we are more likely to do so than they are if Phenicie's behavior surrounding our game with them is indicative of his leadership.

Just curious. Why would Phen's actions surrounding game, whatever they were or weren't. have anything to do with his leadership and how ISU will do in the future? ISU is already doing fairly well under him, and greatly improved over recent prior years. I'm doubting that ISU recruits come to egriz to get egrizzers' views of ISU or Phen.

This is RICH:

Bottom line: Stitt feels Coach Phen's cleats climbing up the BigSky ladder, & eventually his back. This was a lucky win for UM, we are right there and they know it!

Stitt can couch it anyway he wants, but he's scared, & his comments were calculated, dismissive insults from a yesterday's news coach who knows he will be upstaged, soon. Very soon.

What he doesn't realize? This is exactly the fuel Coach P will use to overtake him. (A fool's move to insult an up&comer who "will" outcoach you, that is just a fact). Just put a bigger red X on his back. I can't wait for the next hand shake (w/ISU's foot on the UM programs throat). This years team ain't your father's Oldsmobile.

Glad he put "will" in quotes, because he sure as fuck didn't do it on Saturday. Notice he didn't address PHEN'S dismissive insults from Monday's coach's call.

What a bunch of delusional jack asses...

I think his behavior has been well documented here. The statment speaks for itself. You dont have to agree.

I don't think his actions are well-documented, other than what he said at the press conference and video of the handshake (where no one here knows what is said).

In any event, I was mainly asking why you thought his actions had anything to do with leadership or the future of ISU. I wasn't disagreeing with anything. I was asking you to explain your comment.

Wait didnt he accuse our football team of dirty play as well. Insinuating we hurt one of his players. This seemed to me to be a veiled excuse for the outcome of the game. Additionally he had the pregame press conference to which you referred. I think Stitt was dead on of his assessment of Phenicie not acting like a head coach. His behavior showed a lack of maturity and character. If this was an abberration then fine but like I said in the original post if it is indicative of his leadership I think he will be outcoached. Coaches character absolutely has an impact on his team's success.

Yes, he apparently accused the Griz of being dirty. Maybe they were; maybe they weren't. I don't have a problem with what Phen said before or after the game, nor what Stitt said later. To me, it's a tiny thing that has no bearing on anything (other than perhaps the relationships of the two coaches), and certainly not on leadership and future results for ISU.

Great. Thanks for weighing in

I've always liked Phen. Still will regardless of what he did this past week. It's over. The Griz won. But, in terms of leadership, I don't think, and have never seen, a Griz player behave like one of Phen's players did, RIGHT IN FRONT HIM. I don't think a UM player under Stitt, Delaney or Hauck would be flipping off, first the other team before kickoff, or the opposing crowd, while he's supposed to be lining up for the route he's about to run. No, I'm not saying flipping off the crowd is the worst offense in the world, actually I think flipping off the Griz as they ran onto the field before the game, with both hands, standing right next to Phen, was way worse then flipping the bird to a few heckling fans. But either way, I just can't see Griz players doing that right in Stitt's face, or Delaney's or Bobby's or Joe Glenns. To me, that is a reflection on leadership. I know Phen didn't condone what Dean did, but, to quote a line from Remember the Titans "Attitude Reflect Leadership, Captain."

Did Phen see these things?

I know a coach shouldn't condone flipping off, but I can't get very excited about players flipping off anyone. It happens not infrequently and it has for many decades. A yes I agree that it would be a serious offense with Stitt.

Just because it has been happening for years doesnt mean its ok. I agree that if it was just once in the heat of the moment that would be one thing but he did it before the game started. In the clip on one of the posts it appearedd Phenecie was walking right at the spot but in his defense the angle is difficult to discern and it could have been in his blind spot. At the same time if the player was concerned about discipline from the coach I dont think he does it at all and certainly not that close to him. In any case I think the "bird" issue has been addressed to the degree it will be and we will have to see how ISU does going forward
