Don't forget....it's a white out

If you think I'm a bad fan for not wearing white you are retarded. Telling someone to fall in line...also dumb. Also, pink out week, I'm not going to wear pink. I'll also bitch about the fact that everyone is wearing pink. I will wear my same shirt I always wear, because that's what good fans do. If I have to wear the same underwear the whole season, I will. If you expect me to buy a special shirt because the marketing department says so you will be quite disappointed. So before you bad fan me why don't you take your white shirt and put it in your pee hole.

Let's take a deep breath then count to ten. Nobody called you a "bad fan" for not wanting to wear white during the white out game. I understand you have a certain expectation for the games, and that's fine. Also, at no point did myself or others say you had to buy a new white shirt. Any white shirt would do just fine. You mention "good fans" always wear the same shirt. I have no problem with superstitions and rituals, however, I do believe there is some positive that can come from a unified fan base. You mention telling someone to fall in line is "dumb." In many cases I would agree, however, getting behind your universities athletic departments agenda is, in my opinion, not "dumb." The athletic department, the team, and the University of Montana is much greater than you or I. So I suggest getting off your high horse and try to be a positive fan. It's actually really fun once you let go of the negativity.

I appreciate your opinion and maintain mine. The most negative thing I can imagine is not wearing the shirt I feel like I should wear so...

The "negativity" I speak of is not simply "not wearing the shirt I feel like I should wear". The negativity is a greater sense a reader gets from your tone. You bash others (other GRIZ fans), and distance yourself from the one thing we all agree we want: a successful Griz season as well as a successful University of Montana. I know, I know. You have your opinions and your own agenda. That's good. We all do too. I am just commenting on two things. One, the positives that come from aligning yourself to the athletic departments inexpensive way to show solidarity. Second, the negativity that often comes from emotional responses and views (especially on the anonymous internet!) that can derail any civil conversation. This negativity closes people's minds to other ideas and makes us as a fan base seem less united. I appreciate your opinion and tradition. I know you will do what you want to do, I only ask that the next time you wish to give your opinion on this or any other boards, you do so in a way that makes you and your opinion look intelligent.

I can not disagree with you more. However, I agree that my opinion isn't necessarily important nor helpful to the greater good. I will not comment further. Enjoy the game and Go Griz.

Guess this is another way to show that we don't have the best fans in the nation. Funny how dedicated other fans are to their teams compared to ours

I'll bet every man out there has a white T shirt. Wear one! Nobody said you had to buy a new shirt. Put your GRIZ cap on and you haven't spent a dime. Put your extra dimes into your beer and you will be happy.

Griz whiteout T-Shirt is only $12 at Universal Sports. We will all look great with the black ash falling on our white attire...oh well, by the way, what is a white drink I can serve at my tailgate? What is a white Russian?

Only Griz Nation could completely derail a thread about an upcoming white out game. Holy shit balls fellas it's pretty sad.

Seriously I don't understand why our fans are so against doing anything like this. All the major FBS programs do it and their fans participate. MSU does it and fans participate. All you want to claim we have the best fans in the nation and that we care soooo much about the university and program. Then why are we resisting doing something the marketing and athletic depts put together. Doesn't make much sense to me. Put 10 bucks there will be a whine fest about the atmosphere and music during the game

This is sooooo stupid. I own at least a four dozen assorted Griz golf shirts, tees of both sleeve lengths, pullovers, jackets and coats, in all current and former Griz colors, and about a dozen hats of all colors and designs. I'm happy to wear whatever team spirit color shirt/hat/coat the Ath Dept requests, especially a white shirt and hat on a 90+ degree day in the North end zone. One of my "free spirit individualist" buddies is wearing black to PROTEST, and I will laugh my ass of as he bakes in his seat and pisses and moans about how hot it is. I'll tell him its a practice round for his hereafter. He got called a conformist once so he goes overboard to never join the crowd. My protest to the protesters is I'm wearing my pink shirt on the drive down tomorrow. Geez, just find a lucky pair of jockey shorts, face stickers, socks, condoms, etc that you can have or wear each game and still show team spirit.

Come on folks, pick your battles. Is wearing a white shirt really the place to draw the line? Seems to me like there are a lot of other much more important things to focus your negative energy on. But that's just me...
