No, I don't believe the Griz will roll over. Of course they will put up a hell of fight. But they don't have the fire power this year that they've had in years past.

When Hilliard (NFL) left, the rest of the world laughed because we had no replacement. Enter Chase Reynolds (NFL).
When Heidelberger left, the rest of the world laughed becuase we had no replacement. Enter Marc Mariani (NFL).
When Mariani left (NFL), the rest of the world laughed because we had no replacement. Enter Sambrano (NFL).
When Anderson left (NFL), the rest of the world laughed because we had no replacement. Enter Schillinger (NFL).
When Jimmy Wilson (NFL) was wrongly imprisoned, the world laughed because we had no replacement. Enter Trumain Johnson (NFL).

The list goes on and on, SE. The BSC alsorans ALWAYS seem to make the mistake that somehow a lack of playing time equates to a lack of talent. Sometimes it's hard to get on the field when the senior in front of you is bound for the NFL.

We return 4 of our top 5 running backs. We return our first-team BSC TE. We return a stable of receivers (EIGHT, to be exact) who all caught more than 10 passes last year, including our 2nd leading receiver. We have a deep and experienced O-line. We have the best LB crew in the BSC. We return our top safety in the defensive backfield.

Oh, we've got some holes, to be sure. Kicker/Punter, Return man, inexperienced QB, unproven corners. But that's what happens when you send FIVE GUYS to the NFL and another to the CFL. But make no mistake, the Griz HAVE the firepower. I sure hope the EWU coaches are as cocky and confident in the Griz downfall as you appear to be.

Expect a return to something akin to Bobby-ball (power running game and short passing game) until the QB gets his feet under him...ya'll are in for a surprise. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Whatever makes you feel better, AZ. Funny how just a few years ago your were the Griz Chicken Little after struggling with ISU.

Just seems like high risk, low reward. The guy isn't even good anymore.

How so? Where's the risk? Carroll doesn't put up with divas. If he gets out of line, he'll be gone. He's signed to a minimum contract... there's no guarantee that he even makes the team. And not good anymore? He ran a 4.45 40 at age 38, AFTER blowing out his knee earlier this year. His last season (2010 with the Bengals), he put up more catches, yards, and TDs than any one Hawks receiver over 2010 and 2011 combined. Low risk, medium to high reward.

AZ fan, that's some funny stuff  Next time we'll look for your scouting report and trash talking in haiku. Very high school English class of you!

The #Seahawks have released CB Donny Lisowski to open a roster spot for WR Terrell Owens.
LOL

As a Niners fan, I hope to god that pays off like we all know it will

TO > Randy Moss
You're going 0-2 against the Niners this year. Take it to the bank. :coffee:

I would agree with that.

Other than releasing Donny, the TO move makes sense. The Chickens need a go-to receiver and, after filing bankruptcy and playing in the Arena league, TO may just realize this is his last chance and step on the field and play ball. Even at 38 he can give the Chickens a lift at that position.

They don't cash checks that small. ;)

Trading a GRIZ for TO???! That's the kind of karma that buys you a 2-14.

:stupid:

Hawks could have Clipboard Jesus start this year and do better than 2-14 with the defense and run game we have.

And to be fair, Donny wasn't traded. He was cut. He cut a 2nd string Griz player for the 2nd all time leading WR in NFL history. What a stupid move!!!!

Yeah, the way Owens exited the Arena Football League really gives me hope that he is a "changed man." I am talking about risk of him being toxic to younger players, and if it doesn't work out, having egg on face, if forced to release him. I realize he ran well, but name me the last 38 year old receiver who had an impact? I don't follow the Seahawks heavily, but didn't they also sign Braylon Edwards? Another risk guy, with prima donna issues, but I see him having higher upside. Personally, I like Mike Williams. Do you think Rice will have a decent 'comeback' year? I am ready for some NFL..'Eugenics Incorporated' is going to destroy all of you in our league. Take it to the bank..

My money is on this move not working out. And, the responses to Lisowski being released for Owens were tongue in cheek..you do realize that, right..It was difficult to refrain from an emoticon, but I stayed strong..

Nothing new here Griz fans...Scream at eagle has been posting non stop here trying to bust our nuts about the Griz program and in the same voice willing to back TO (which has a pretty colorful history.)

Just trash talk that leads to nowhere...

Go Griz!

1st -- I am a Chicken fan but I stand by my Pete Carroll comment. He has made some crazy personnel/draft decisions over his pro coaching career.
2nd - Yes it's the NFC West so they will do better than 2-14 but even the Rams got much better over the offseason and with Fisher coaching I put them ahead of Seattle just based on that.
3rd -- TO has proven he has HOF talent just not a HOF brain. I hope, as I said before, he know that this is his last shot and plays like he did in SF...with heart and passion for the TEAM, not TO

Yeah, subtraction by addition. Good luck with that!

Wasn't a cancer with Buffalo. Wasn't a cancer with Cincy. He kept his mouth shut and produced. And if he does slip, Pete will have no qualms with cutting him real quick like. Certainly no more of a cancer than Randy Moss...

Yeah, I trust a hardass like Harbaugh's handling of such a matter much more than Surfer Pete

It's funny, if there was a thread on (whatever your board is called) about Mitchell being cut for Brett Favre, I'm sure you guys wouldn't cry foul and I'm sure we'd all run over to it to be dicks about it

I wouldn't. Pete has had no problem with cutting players that don't jive with the team, including players he coached at USC. LenDale White - gone. Mike Williams - gone. Lofa Tatupu - gone. With something like 300 or 400 rosters moves since he took over, I think it's safe to say he has no qualms with cutting a guy who isn't good enough or is a cancer to the team.
