Does Montana have an OC Problem?

Only makes the kids bigger, faster and stronger. This team is lacking in all areas as a whole. The last few graduating classes have all complained about the current coach. He’s not good. But he’s an old friend of Bobby so……..
My friend, a starter from last year, said Ryan is a great guy and players like him. You have bad info, or are just making it up.

I've always been a huge believer in hiring a top notch strength and conditioning coach. IMHO the real reason the bobcats won the chipper in 1984 was because of their strength coach. His name was Rocky Gullickson and he was an egomaniac but he knew his shit. That team was loaded to the gills with legal PED and was way ahead of their time in strength training because of Rock.
Everyone is constantly wanting to compare the size of players but I think their strength to weight ratio is way more important. Give me a 280# lineman that can DL #650+ and run to a +300# guy anyday. Hand strength for tackling and core strength for gap filling. It's key to dominating the trenches.

I haven't been shy over the last few years as personally not being a big fan of Pease's offensive scheme. With the changes in CFB (NIL, Transfer Portal, Roster Cuts etc.) being able to maintain and recruit mat get harder so going against the normal shotgun rpo, spread etc. may not be a bad thing.

I personally am a fan of what the Military Academies and Davidson (their HC is now the HC at Rice) Triple Option scheme, in particular Navy who now runs alot of Wing-T concepts out of multiple formations, I'd love to see it at Montana.

Loaded to the gills with “legal” PEDs in 1984? Yeah, sure, because there was a GNC in bozo, right? And the ncaa was testing so vigorously back then?
I always knew the bubz were dirty with their “egomaniac” [cough*roid-rager*cough] coach. Nice to hear a bubz fan finally admit it

You just confirmed what we all already knew—that you don’t know shit about Grizzly football.

Pointing out I'm a fan of the Triple Option/Wing-T and would like to see it at Montana means I don't know anything about Griz Football? Expected stupid remarks like this just not necessarily from you

It is totally a solid move. I mean the last time a team won a Championship running the triple option/wing-T was...

Georgia Southern in 2000, only one year removed from our last one and one of their 6. The offense has changed quite a bit since then due to NCAA rule changes and in order to Modernize. Both Army and Navy in particular have done very well this year by implementing it, more shotgun formations, more passes and other Spread/Balanced offensive concepts. It's no longer pure under center Flexbone formation anymore.

You do realize there is a reason no one really uses it.

IMO it's because people don't understand it, think it's "boring", they don't pass enough etc. All excuses that I've heard over the years and frankly all not true. Georgia Tech won an Orange Bowl in 2014 running it and Costal Carolina (now Liberty) along with both Army and Navy have had alot of success this and past seasons utilizing different modernized versions of it.

You don't have to be in the basic flexbone, wishbone or Wing-T formstions to implement Wing-T/Triple Option Concepts. A good portion of Army's offense for example utilizes alot of +1 plays using the QB, exactly what NDSU and SDSU do.

Cliff was pretty close, we used alot of +1 running plays with him which is exactly what Navy and Army in particular have done this season.
I would love to see us lean into the type of offense we ran with Clif last season, but that is not even close to the same as running a modified triple option.

If implemented the way Army does it, would be just one of the tools/options in the toolbox. With the current players we have (AhYat, Fonoti, Rocker and Gilman) it could be done and also help out our O-Line.

I just don't think replicating what Army does will have the success we want to have at this level. We should be replicating what SDSU does in their offense, IMO.

I would agree if we could recruit/reload as well as they do, however that doesn't seem to be the case for whatever reason.
