DL injuries

You guys have a really good, fast and physical defense. I think they'll get after, and hold up very well against most of the teams on your schedule. However... being undersized on the DL is a big problem when you play a big front that likes to pound the football. I know you've had injuries on the DL, but you're running a 3-3-5, and your 2nd string nose is 244 pounds? Gubner is an animal in there but if he's playing every snap in that defense, it's not going to last. Most of the teams that run a 3 man front have at least a couple 300 pound monsters to rotate in at nose.

Not according to the Grizzly participation page Lists him as played in 2, and in details does not say UT

Just one example: Go to the last series of the 3rd quarter, 90 is in at nose tackle. He runs off the field when Bobby rallies the boys at the end of the 3rd. The participation page is notoriously inaccurate....I'm not. :lol:

Yes. But you'll also note from game film that Schafer was taking snaps to spell both Ramos and Gubs. I'm told it was a choice between him and moving Ryder Meyer inside.
 
From Schafer's gogriz page, would think he's a good possibility.

Standout lineman and three-sport athlete for Connersville (IN)... Was named team MVP both his junior and senior year, and earned All-Eastern Indiana Conference honors for three straight seasons, putting up 156 total tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and three fumble recoveries

And I'm sure that what you have pointed out is the reason they are using him. Thank goodness he was available for that, because there are literally two RS D-line players, McPherson and Smith, who weight 240 lbs remaining on the roster. I'm happy they are able to find bushell baskets of guys under 200 lbs that run like the wind to recruit, but without questions, DT has got to be a priority this season. I'm sure Hauck was counting on Nuce and Kaschmitter.. But what they're plugged into now is the reality of football, injuries and sometimes injuries that preclude guys from playing again until next season.

Its people like you and Hoops that have driven the program to mediocrity. Frankly, I miss the days of going to Huntington and Chattanooga. Clearly, you never experienced those national championship games in-person or you wouldn't accept how far the program has fallen.

I know a family member of yours. I know for a fact you never went to either place Drew.
 
Thankfully Detrick has been back. Is there any update on Kaschmitter? DL is still my largest area of concern and has been all season.
