Well at least next year all of us directv customers will now have access to the watchespn. About time thank god

That's good news. It's always pissed me off that I couldn't watch it, but had to hope the games went on gameplan and then pay $24.99 to watch it.

Just got the message of the DirecTV rate increase starting 2/5/15; this must be part of the package of what they called "improved features." It's not clear whether the signal for the watchESPN will come via the DirecTV dish or your ISP; if it's the latter, I'm screwed as we have but 3meg available and streaming works for Stitt.

It will come from your internet connection, you will just be able to sign in with your Directv account to access it.

Gotta love the increase, my contract just expired 6 days ago been a member since 2004 but what does that get me jack shit. Unless you are a brand new customer all of us that have been with them forever get screwed. Yes I know I can call and complain and they will give me a discount for a short time but why should I have to ever year or two. Looking to switch as I can cut my bill in almost half by switching to Dish.

I started out with Directv myself but switched to Dish years ago & am very glad I did!

I'm confused by this thread. I have DTV, and have always had access to ESPN3.

Not me. When I pull up the ESPN3 app, DirecTV isn't one of the listed choices.

Sorry guys, I was mistaken. Thought this was about ESPN3 and not Watch ESPN. AZ, you should still be able to watch ESPN3. The ESPN3 games shouldn't require you to select a TV provider. At least that's the way mine looks.

Maybe with your internet provider you had access to ESPN3. But directv customers did not have access to login to the WatchESPN. Now when it takes effect you will be able to login with your directv account and watch the full gam ant of content on WatchESPN.

So for me now who has Directv for TV and Charter for my internet I could use ESPN3 but could only watch the content that was exclusively on ESPN3. Now when it becomes available to directv customers I can login in with my directv account and watch everything like the content being shown on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU. Thus I can do it from anywhere and on any device.

If his internet provider was an approved provider he could, but correct me if I am wrong AZ your internet provider was not.
