DirecTV has removed Altitude for the same contract dispute
Huh? It's showing up on my program guide here in Missouri.
Yep, it shows on our guide also. But when we go to the actual channel, all we see is the message that Altitude refused AT&T's "fair" offer and "forced them" to take the feed down. I suppose that could change between now and game time, but I rather doubt it.

Poop. I don't get it either. By the way, DirecTV and Comcast are offering Altitude 50% less than their last contract. That is why the dispute is occurring.
Got proof of that somewhere? I know all these company’s want more and more money for that same mediocre programming and less viewers. Remember every time a provider pays one of these channel companies...your bill as a consumer will increase. Anytime one channel is in disputes with all or most of the major providers...it’s usually because their numbers suck and they want the same or more money.

Yeah. Let me find it. It was in a Denver paper, where Altitude is located. I originally though that it was the local companies demanding more too.

Edit: Here is a ling to a good article showing both sides. The article also has a link to the Denver Post article. https://www.multichannel.com/news/altitude-goes-dark-on-comcast-directv

Edit 2: Note this does not describe the details regarding the contract dispute between Cowles' Media (owner of Montana's ABC and FOX affiliates). It only describes the details between Altitude and DirecTV and Comcast.

Edit 3: I would also like to point out that local channels make most of their money from ads. Ads that DirecTV and the like also air without getting revenue directly from the ads.

I live in rural area and internet is slow. I have Direct tv and for most part have few issues. Upset about two local channels inop and they didn’t automatically keep my NFL package active made a call to them.
Asked rep to explain to me why they didn’t discount my charges due to two channels being inop... little silence and talking in a circle...asked again why all customers are being charged for inop channels and Direct failure to secure rights is their issue not mine...silence and paper shuffling...rep was able to discount my monthly charges by $15.00. Then addressed the NFL package...same game, got NFL package at 30% off.
Reason for post, if you want to keep your current carrier and not happy, be firm and nice and get discounts.

On dishes site they say channel 426 is root sports."must purchase multi-sports pack". Go to 426 and you'll find the channel isn't there. Some research and I found the game on dish "multi-sports pack"
412-16. Last year there was an issue with dish just like with whats happening with direct/altitude.
Thanks to big sky conference board of directors for the pain in our asses.

I got Dish & just got FS1 & B10 network blacked out, what a crock they do all this during football season!

I have Dish and it shows the Griz are on 412-04 at 2:00 pm Saturday

I also have DirecTV and am certainly not happy with the present situation. Where I live antennas are spotty at best.

However I do see where tomorrow's game is listed as being broadcast on AUDHD, channels 71 and 500 on Direct. As of noon today I am still getting a feed on AUDHD! Whether this will still be the case tomorrow or not is anybody's guess.

As of tonight at midnight Direct may be removing NBC from their service. If that happens that will leave only one local affiliate still available for DirecTV customers. Most of us are paying an exorbitant amount already for this service and are certainly not getting what we are paying for!
On the other hand, the owners of these local affiliates, Cowles and Sinclair generate their income from advertising revenue. i don't see a compelling reason for them to be penalizing these same advertisers from a potentially significant customer base!

There should be a fairly simple resolution, but, as we all know, when dealing with money nothing is ever simple.

I pay $135/month for DISH, so I can get the games on ROOT with the sports pack. At the end of the regular season, I'll be dumping DISH and get Youtube TV for $50/month (they have my local channels) and during next year football season (if ROOT still shows games) I'll also get ATT TV NOW ($50/month), as they have the audience channel that shows ROOT. But, who knows from year to year what juggling act we all need to play.

Going from $1,620/year to about $750/year.

I just noticed that today too. Crappy! You sort of wait for the next shoe to fall.

I have Dish & pay 67.03 & 5.00 (just bumped up) & do get root sports!

Has anyone cancelled DirecTV or called them and threatened to over this? I have heard they offer free NFL Ticket to keep you and also some discounted monthly rate. Just want to see if anyone has any advice what I should bargain for. It is BS I pay around $140 per month and no Fox, ABC, Root, and they are talking about cutting ESPN and NBC soon. Basically the only reason I have tv in the fall is to watch football.

In the past when I have complained they’ve been good about knocking my bill down 10, 20, or $30 a month for the next 6 to 12 months. I got nowhere this time ended up on the phone for 30 minutes and was ready to shoot myself in the face. I am going with sling tv as soon as I watch game tomorrow on root. The rest of the games that Root is carrying are pretty much home games and I go to all of those

Anyone with DirecTV still have audience and showing the game on the guide at 2? Our normal away game spot is thinking of getting DirecTV Now. Or ATT Now. Whatever they call it, but don’t want to if Audience isn’t broadcasting the game.

It's still on the guide, on several channels ... Audience and ROOT. And those channels are showing actual programs right now (Altitude has the bitch message). It remains to be seen about the football broadcast, but it looks good right now.
