Hopefully ALL of the guys right out of HS are redshirting. This list should be more like:

2022 Transfers

QB- Lucas Johnson 6'3" 215 (San Diego State) 1 to play 1 (Transfer)

WR- Sawyer Racanelli 6' 2" 210 (2. 3-star) (U of Washington) (Transfer)

OL- Dylan Mayginnes 6'5" 300 (Wash State) (Transfer)

DE- Garrett Hustedt 6'2" 230 (Nebraska) 3 to play 3 (Transfer)

CB- Robert Whitehead 6'1" 180 (Grossmont J.C.) 3 to play 2 (Transfer)
CB- Jayden Dawson 5'11" 190 (Idaho State) 1 to play 1 (Transfer)

You are correct. What is everyone’s take on the high school kids alone?

+1
Although, now that I see, NAUs Twitter feed, I realize that I have no hope and we are doomed.

Or something... Whatever they're smoking, I could stand a puff of it; might get me through the workweek.

Well Darryl Royal said : we will dance with the one that brought us. And Ray Jenkins, During the Cuban Missile crisis. Said Hell! he would take our football team down there and run those Russians back to Moscow. ,,,

Can we win the Bigsky next year yes, will we? Idk. I’m not convinced we have the OL to compete. We need OL depth. We are again light on the OL

I agree I hoped for more additions to the oline as far as winning the big sky I think it's possible. Though I'm not sure it really means anything or matters with the way the confrence is currently set up.

Light as in not enough players? Or light as in not enough talent? We’ve got 16 O-linemen, not counting the walk-on just signed. All the talent in the world won’t matter, however, if they don’t learn to work as a unit and communicate.

He was gone the next year. And Davidson was worse.

I don.t recall Hugh coaching at Texas. !!
Funny. Davidson came up with Jenkins from CO as an assistant and when Jenkins was canned he took over as HC in '63. Same result as Jenkins.

Look Fella: i was there from, Jerry williams, laurie Neimi, and Fred Naumetz.time and when Ray jenkins, and hugh davidson, and Don branby , and Milt Schwenk.were hired. And i was a grad assistant for those coaches. So unless you were there, i doubt you know a damn thing about those years or those coaches. maybe you got all your expert knowledge from the Missoulian. Or the College newspaper the Kaimin. Unfortunately, they are all Dead. (Mr. Know it all). I never said they were winning coaches, they just cared for their players and were willing to go to battle with them.

I see that...I would say with that group, we have QB1 and is an upgrade overall. I would say a WR to step in right away and contribute. OL obviously will be a starter. DE will likely get some reps, although was he a walk on at Nebraska? Not sure what that translates to, but expect reps. CB with Ford and Dawson is ridiculous and to have Whitehead be a backup plus Soe being the bright young corner, that is great in a pass happy league.

The Nebraska kid was brought in to replace Justin Belknap. They are similar players (speed, high motor). The great thing is this kid has three years to play.

I think it's hilarious how some of you are passing over Brown. He was just a Freshman QB last year (with NO burners at WR, mind you). It's not common for a FR to look great. He will only get better. 😎

Will he get better than Britt - that is the question.

I think he has talents and skills and some upside, however I think he has a looooooong ways to go. And the narrative that people keep saying he is a freshman is something I don’t agree with necessarily as last season was his 3rd year in the program.

Agreed. Though it’s been said many times, if he was the guy, we probably wouldn’t have had to play Patterson against JMU. I’m sure he’s a great dude. Just because you aren’t a DI caliber QB doesn’t mean you’re a bad person.

He has been playing football for at least 10 years (middle school, high school, UM) and still has absolutely NO pocket presence. I don't think that is going to magically change in the next year.

Yea, it was way more about the administration and the attitude toward football in those years than it was about Hugh's coaching. He had great success after his Griz days with Idaho State and the Denver broncos. You bad mouthing him just shows what a petty prick you are. Hugh Davidson was an amazing person, and a personal friend of mine. Far from the petty, washed up know it all, that thinks he's the puff daddy of a fan message board.
