LadyGriz Did Nate Harris Pull Off a Recruiting Coup?

Grizzlyjournal - thanks for the invitation. I'll join you as often as I can. I came to college shortly after Zip Ron anyhodes (1964). I watched a lot of games but my memory of individual players is getting dimmer. I think that Eric Hayes, Shari Bratt, and Shane Belnap were the most intense, take no prisoners, full speed Griz players over that span. Having watched Avery Decoite at Big Sky, I think she may join that club.
I don't clearly remember Lady Griz recruiting classes, but I think this year's may prove to be the best. I think that the Lady Griz are back.

When I posted that men's basketball is a "ghost ship," I thought I'd get a lot of critical feedback.
That somebody somewhere would stick up for the program, fire away at me with counter-arguments and accusations of heresy, disloyalty and of course, Communism.
Nope.
Instead, the thread winds up being about Women's Volleyball!
I rest my case.

In a 1927 novel by a Sinclair Lewis, Socialism and Communism are two distinct categories of consideration. As Francis Hutcheson, mentor for one Adam Smith, no later than 1745 would state:.'Industrial Will can not exist in a Communistic Society.' Subsequently, Book One of Volume One of 'The Wealth of Nations,' begins with the 'Division of Labor.' Hence, there is no John Stuart Mill's Utilitarianism (Greatest Happiness for the greatest number), in a Communistic Regime. And not much else either, evidently.

Communism has never existed in this country--except as a protest vote--and never will. Capitalism has always been and always will be the economic engine that drives this country. I have benefitted greatly from that wonderful system.

I see Socialists in this country as only saying, "Hey! How do we cut up the Capitalistic pie? Who gets what? And do the people who've built our roads and airports and taught in our schools and responded first and corageously to all our emergencies and disasters--do they too get to share the spoils of the Capitalstic Engine?

That's not communism and Travis DeCuire is a great guy despite my issues with the men's basketball program. Those are my opinions and I'm sticking to them.😂

Their win in Bozeman last year was definitely great win, but they also completely choked away the game in Missoula last year. Should’ve gone 2-0 against them. The facts are the facts. The Volleyball program has been completely average-below average during Lawrence’s tenure and I don’t see that changing this year. Not because I don’t think there’s a lack of talent on this team, but because Lawrence has proven time and time again she can’t get it done.

Believe me, I want Griz Volleyball to be successful. I think it’s the sleeping giant program for the athletic department, but Allison Lawrence has never been able to get it done. This season will be very telling of whether I’m right or wrong. Hope I’m wrong but it’s probably time to ask ourselves when enough is enough.
I agree that "this season will be very telling..." as you put it, regarding the GrizVB team. I choose, however, to fully support this program this season. Beyond the departure of three seniors (one who was injured over the past 2+ weeks of the season, which affected the team greatly), the GrizVB team returns 15 of its rostered players from last year, where the team went 17-11 overall and tied for 4th in Big Sky standings (9-7) with WSU. I am a long-time Griz basketball freak but had way more fun supporting the GrizVB team this past year than I did the Lady Griz (a team I've loved & supported since 1980).

We shall see my friend. I don’t think it’s a Jimmy’s and Joe’s problem. I think it’s an X’s and O’s problem.

I have to agree that I don't acquiesce with the 'Revenue Sharing' silliness, as well. Though minimum wage was recognized, but not until 1939; at .25 cents an hour.
