Lubick was in fact offered the job but “turned it down”

Doesn’t that mean that Lubick turned them down twice now? Good for him. I sure as shit would not work for somebody who treated my dad so poorly. In fact, I would do the same thing Lubick did, string them along for retribution. Hopefully Lubick will get the chance to do this again to them (for a third time?) in about 3-4 years.

BTW, national signing day is in about 36 hours. Time to scramble for the second, third, etc. options

Lubick was making over $500,000 at Nebraska. I don't think he wanted to take a huge pay cut. Makes sense.

Pretty cool of him to apply and waste MSU's time, then. It's pretty obvious that the dude fucking hates you guys. Absolutely hilarious optics on this one. I agree that MSU will reach back out to him when the new guy bails in 2024.

Does Matt harbor any vindictiveness for his dad's treatment by MSU? I don't know. Stringing MSU into believing he is interested, then slamming the door in their face would be perfect. Well played, Matt.

I know retribution is sweet. I have waited...and waited...for over 50 years in one instance, but delivered my 'nut kick' for wrongs I perceived were done to me or those close to me. Very satisfying.

Note to self. Never piss off Tourist.

My neighbor said it wasn’t a financial issue at all. Instead, MSUser told Mr. Lubick he could not bring in his own staff and had to accept the lame duck staff. No thanks. He was smart to turn down last year’s leftovers. When has that ever worked? For real? Can anyone give an example?

It’s like they want to hire in-house, and do a “national search” at once. I can’t think of a single time that has worked (or even attempted?). Such a boobcat thing to do—“we’ll just engineer around this problem”.

Can you imagine moving into your new girlfriend’s house, and you have to accept that she still has a shrine to her old boyfriend, like old clothes, CDs, pictures, and videos!

I have no doubt that they will bungle this hire and fall right back into a .500 coach whom they will swear is “making progress” with the program. That guy will bail at the first opportunity, and then, they will do this all again in 3-4 years. If we’ve learned anything over the last five years, it’s that coaches cannot wait to leave Bozeman. Except if you’re the only proven winner in modern program history. They’ll fire you if you win BSC Championships.

If a non negotiable to take this job is to have to retain BJ Robertson and Armstrong.....than the Cats have already lost. I hope this is true.

I’ve been racking my brain trying to think of an example when a forced adoption of the broken pieces of staff left over from the prior HC has worked (as opposed to an internal promotion).
Can’t think of one.
Didn’t we force Stitt to take Traitorak?

They say a finalist:

Well Justin Green has worked out just fine in my opinion!

I heard an announcement will be made soon at a press conference at the Four Seasons Lawn and Garden Center.

Is there a Bobcat fan that can explain the garage thing where they do press conferences? Is it in the northwest equipment shed? Do Cat fans think it looks good? Honest questions.

With all the embarrassing gaffes the Bobcats are known for, you’d think they would just do press conferences in a conference room with a backdrop. Nope, gotta do them in a barn with a single 40 watt lightbulb, apparently.

Ease up a little. When roofs start caving in you make do with what's left.

CDA is damn right. For some reason, Cat People have an infatuation with sheds. In fact, they add the word “shed” to everything they cherish. I’ve heard them refer to the shit pond as a “watershed.” They call the frozen mud hole around the stadium a “parkingshed.” I think they call the shed where the press conferences are held the “shedshed.”

And the “Annual Bobcat MILF’s Date a Coach Contest” took place at the MSU She Shed.
