I know Matt Lubick, he's a great candidate. He worked for Dennis Ericson at Arizona State. And Ericson happens to be on the msu search committee. Not only that, the kitties are looking to not look so stupid like they did when they fired his dad Sonny Lubick after the 81 season and msu won the national championship with Sonny's players. Maybe msu is looking to redeem themselves. Lubick went on to U Miami and Colorado State where they named the field after the legendary coach.

msu would be wise to look at another friend of mine, Kevin Peeples, DL coach at U of Indiana of the Big 10. They went 6-2 last year, dominated Michigan and shut-out Michigan State, and nearly knocked off Ohio State before the Buckeyes played for the title. Indiana played in the Outback Bowl. Peeples also coached in the SEC. Peeples was a 1989 Butte Central grad and 4 year starter at Carrol for Putter Petrino.

I definitely remember rumors swirling about this a couple years back, but I can't quite remember specifics. I think someone dispelled the rumors at some point, but I remember some Bobcat faithful being adamant that there was some sort of altercation.
