Did Hauck leave the cupboard bare?

Wait...another cereal thread? I like it! Thank you Atlanta Griz1 for a new cereal thread!

What better way to start the day than with a sugary bowl of Sugar Rice Krinkles! And what better way to sell cereal than with a clown that may or may not shank you with his spoon!

Don't you just want a bowl? And....They Float!

Deserve what you get drinking that acid, my Grandpa drank it daily when I was growing up...I found out the hard way he was more man than me.

Wish I could say it was the beer that did us in this year.. it was the chicken nachos and Everclear that sunk the ship.

Big game Bobby has been past the point of relevance, in every respect, for some time now. Thank goodness for small favors. From a distance, looks to me like the Stitt staff has ratcheted up the recruiting engine significantly. Look @ the two walk-ons that have been recently announced, looks like the buzz around the program is getting attention in the areas we're looking to get players from. Now if we can just get past the sanctioned scholly reduction, would bet on a well-stocked cupboard in the future.

Feeling like a f$&king piker now. Just the Honey Nut Cheerios in the house. All the wife will let me have. Captain C... Sure miss you.

The 2010 team had Andrew Selle, Trumaine, Jordan Johnson, Sam Gratton, Jabin Sambrano, Jimmy Wilson, Jordan Canada, Peter Nguyen, Alex Shaw, Chase Reynolds, McSurdy, Tripp, JP, Wags, Poehls, Kistler, Tonga, and several other very good players. Several freshman on the 2010 team eventually became 2-3 year starters.

what's your point?

Literally didn't have one. Hungry for cereal all of a sudden though.

Here's one just for you and Alpha in memory of Vegas.

i still blame this on Titleist..... he just stood back lustfully gazing at the plate of nachos on the table.... i mistook it for him eyeing up the hot gals with said nachos and proceeded to go strike up a conversation for the little guy.... he then barged on over and dove into the nachos.... the rest is, shall we say, flushed down the toilet....

No... no it wasn't. That's okay though, in New Orleans we won't have to worry about chicken nachos.. it'll be crawfish all day long.

The cupboard wasn't bare. However, recruiting may not have been in great shape after Hauck left, and there were multiple holes to fill. A number of transfers were brought in. Also, a number of players had academic issues, many or most of which they cleaned up in the spring/summer, I believe.

Yeah yeah, we know that you are going to stick up for your boy toy Bobby. You were salivating at the thought of having him close once again. Close but no cigar.

Who really cares. It's been six years. The kitchen has been remodeled two or three times since Hauck.

Two years, and there will be the same amount of time between Hauck's last year (2009) and the present, as there was between Read's last year (1995) and Hauck's first (2003).

I was told there would be no math...

By whom? He's a damned liar.

Well the hell with him, then. Oh, and I agree about the remodeling. Blaming Hauck now is like Obama blaming Bush 6 years into his presidency for everything that happens.

Too young, might be my uncle though.

Hauck made the most of his home field advantage - 3 appearances in the NC title game where the home field advantage wasn't there - with predictable results, they fell to better competition.

If you trace back to the demise of our conference dominance, i think it begins with Hauck's last recruiting year. Bobby was determined to get out of town during his last season, and I don't think his heart was into recruiting for the future, when he knew he wouldn't be here.

Any thoughts. Oh, and the sugar brigade can ignore this thread, since it discusses a subject that is foreign to them, football.

It'd be pretty difficult to argue that Hauck wasn't a good recruiter during his tenure. Certainly better than Delaney. It seemes to me that the 2010 and 2011 teams had good talent..... I would not agree that he left the cupboards bare.

Yeah, far from bare cupboards.. I think our coaching carousel had something to do with it. One coach recruiting on style of offense and then you bring in another coach who wants to run a totally different style of offense and the players prior to that don't fit the system and all their are trying to do now is fill the holes.

We'll be fine once Stitt recruits who he needs to run his system. He'll be the one to turn the program back around to what it once was. We are lucky to have him, lots of connections all over the country.

Would it be too much to ask of you to make substantive posts like this on the football board, instead of posts with no substance and no football knowledge or posts picking at other posters, like myself? The board would be much better off, in my view. Occasional cereal and other stuff, but not that the visual stuff ad nauseum. Oh, on your substantive post, I neither agree or disagree with what you said, but I respect what you said, and you may be right in what you said.

Haha. I know that most on the board know what I'm talking about. Good friend of Bobby. Very good friend of Pflu. A pretty good friend of Mick. And knew every single assistant coach during this time period. And have talked to a number of them about this very subject. Wanted to be careful about what I said, and how I said it, but doubt that anyone posting on egriz at this time knows more about this subject than I do.

The fail is you, Alpha.
