Did Bobby recruit Mellott?

Trying to strike a funny balance between the BH haters and the BH lovers with a couple inside and outside jokes. Not all jokes hit. Only 14% of my jokes hit, but I judge their success on the milk-fat scale, and 14% is astronomical on that scale. (Credit: Nick Thune)

This show biz is a fickle mistress.

Yep, once again big Milk is flexing its muscle over the simple consumer.

I know for a fact UM recruited Mellott hard till the very end. Mellott wasn't sure what he wanted to major in at the time, but was mostly interested in engineering. That was the hurdle. Nothing else. Great kid, by the way.

This is the absolute truth

Considering he chose a business/finance degree that is not recognized as an engineering degree, I’m inclined to believe he went where he’d have the opportunity to fulfill his dreams of being a qb.

In no way, shape or form, was (SR) Kris Brown named Montana Gatorade Player of the Year; (JR) Rostad was, even though Brown had just as good numbers and all while at the same time going against tougher competition.

(SR) Rostad was defeated his senior year by Butte's (SR) Tommy Mellott for the Gatorade Player of the Year.

Mellot's numbers easily surpass both Brown and Rostad.

Mellot's numbers are superior to GRIZ COMMIT HUOT as well.

Choke on those facts.

Wait, here's another shocker for the morons on here, Mellott's number make Dave Dickenson's numbers look paltry.

This blew my mind, so I had to check.

Dickenson: In his college career (including playoff games), he completed 1,015 of 1,477 passes (68.7%) for 13,486 yards with 116 touchdowns and only 26 interceptions, and was responsible for 137 total touchdowns (116 passing and 21 rushing).

Melott: in his college career (including playoff games) he completed 26 of 50 passes (52%), 461 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions, and was responsible for 14 touchdowns (4 passing and 10 rushing).

It’s basically a coin flip. ;)
Pretty sure they were comparing and contrasting their Montana high school stats. But if Tommy, as a freshman, can qb the Cats to a win over ndsu, which is a big ask, then he would probably deserve to be in the conversation and will most assuredly be their super Dave right after Troy Andersen. But remember Super Dave didn’t have a Troy Andersen on defense when he won it.

Well then you aren't close to former Butte stars for the Grizzlies or the current coaches is my guess.. ;)

My bad. I assumed the comparison was based on CFB.
I think I'm going to have to see their junior high stats side by side to determine the better college QB.

If you don’t look at Apgar scores on these lads, you’re just not getting all the info needed to make accurate projections.

You could've fooled Marshall. It was the Griz defense that won that game. I was at the game, were you?

No, but I did watch it on tv. Lol I’m pretty sure that defense didn’t have a buck buchanan award winner like Andersen though. MSU’s defense this year is what ranked 1 or 2 so yeah Tommy is getting a lot of help in winning these games.

Has Anderson won a Buck Buchanan award?

Unfortunately, Im pretty sure he is getting it based upon all his pr over the years and the fact he’s playing in the chipper. You don’t think he will win it?

What a difference a year makes. I was at the game in 96. The defense looked like a bunch of sixth graders playing against a HS team.

Voted on before it was decided who was in the chipper.

I just asked a very simple yes or no question that you haven't answered.

Randy Moss did that to people all year in '96.

He did in 1996. Then the following year Chad Pennington to Randy Moss with a 5th round center made the MAC look silly. Didn’t Moss end up 4th in the Heisman that year (1997). He made the NFL look silly in 1998 too.

And my answer is yes, he won it but it won’t be announced until Jan. 7.
