I was responding to loyalgriz post on Stockton should have been more clear but did not see Msla griz answer about Stockton.

Qvale and Selvig were recruited as a package deal and were offered by Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State, Montana(given), Iowa State those were the big schools that wanted them together. Individualy Qvale turned down the likes of Witchita State NDSU, and probably some others. Selvig had offers to USC, arizona state, texas tech, and west virginia

Did not know they were recruited as a package. Is this true, were they best friends or something????

Also cannot stand our perimeter defense. We are getting destroyed by every back court we play.

so are we looking at a joel Pryzbilla or a brad lohaus? Hopefully he he can continue to buid so he's not another fazekas. Strait showed what that guy's worth.

Unfortunately that was just about Strait's last good game. He has gone in the tank since then. I think Fazekas is the biggest pussy ever (he RAN off the court without shaking any hands after we kicked their butts in Salt lake), but he has game, despite being a total douche-bag. Strait musta fell in love or something, because he has lost all his fire. I've never been so diappointed in any Griz, because I know he coulda been a dominant force. Someone wake his ass up!

Qvale and Selvig were not putting them selves out there as a "Package". It was widely known that both kids were entertaining the idea of playing together, and the Griz used this to their advantage. Remember though, Selvig committed to the Griz a full 3 or more weeks before Qvale. Selvig choice was based on what program he felt was best for him. After Selvig committed, Qvale did not immediately jump on board, he explored his options, and then pulled the trigger. I think Selvig being at Montana played heavily on his choice, yes, but he liked the program enough that I think if Selvig had committed to Arizona State for example Qvale still may have committed to the Griz.

Another thing to remember, and I have mentioned this before. Both kids committed rather early before a lot of schools had extended all of their offers. Selvig being the more high profile of the two had more concrete offers, than Qvale, but there were a lot of offers still yet to come. So the who offered them question some times does not tell the whole story.
