I'm also hoping this doesn't become an issue. Based on the limited amount of playing time the bench has gotten this year, one would think that the Griz has a weak bench with players that are limited or that the team would slide back if they were given more than just a few minutes here and there. This is not the case. There's a lot of talent on that bench that can contribute if given the chance.
I've watched all but one of the Griz games this year and I can only recall one instance in which the bench was mass substituted toward the end of a game and the opponent went on a run that caused Tinkle to put the starters back in. In all other cases the substitutes pretty much held the score at where it was with the starters in there or even increased the Griz lead or cut into the opponents lead.
At this point, with the success the Griz have had (24-6 record), you really can't fault Tinkle much with basically playing 5 1/2 guys. That philosophy is somewhat of a gamble though. I do know that the bench could have been utilized and prepared more than they have. I just hope everyone stays healthy and the Griz can get by Weber and shock a team or two in the NCAA tourney.
