The Tiger haters are out in force.

The problem wasn't the drop. The problem was the scorecard that Augusta staff OK'd before he signed it. That's on them.

I don't think he'll win, but to say he deserves to be DQ'd is hilarious if you actually stop drinking the haterade. :thumb:

the dude in the 60's got dq'd for signing a HIGHER score than he shot....did he deserve to be dq'd for worsening his score?

The problem was the drop, and the staff that was going to let it slide because it was Tiger, until Tiger opened his yapper. Deserved to be dq'd....

That is incorrect. You don't get DQ'd for signing a scorecard that has a higher score.

If a player signs a card in which the score for any hole is higher than his actual performance, that higher score becomes his official score for that hole.

And he didn't deserve to be DQ'd because in the rules they didn't let him know soon enough. I bet that happens quite often but it cost Tiger a penalty because he has so many cameras on him all the time.

Don't these two photos in the linked article, show that he actually hit the second shot within inches of where he hit the second shot?

Kirschner is a beast and has always been a beast. One of the most punishing runners in the state of Washington coming out of HS and would also be in the Big Sky if given the opportunity. Really hope he gets more playing time this year. Stud

I agree. I think Nguyen got way too many carries last season, and this kid got way too few. He is a much better running back than most fans think. For some reason, he has always remained in the background here. I think the coaches are making a big mistake not giving him some significant PT with the first team offense. He just punishes defenders. I would feature him in the second half, when defenses are tired and trying to make arm-tackles. Ain't gonna happen with Brett toting the pig skin.

we still do not have a break away runner unless chase is going to be that guy, but he is going to have to sneak through that line with his size to do it......like the way jordan is running but he does not look as if he has the speed to break away..........loved watching the likes of sambrano, jefferson heidelberger and segars making their runs to the border.....even if it was mostly on kick offs and returns.....blazing speed........gotta love it

Van appears to have breakaway speed. Canada is very fast, even if not quite breakaway speed. The frosh coming in from AZ definitely has breakaway speed.

On Van from a Marshall article: "Sophomore Travon Van checks in at 4.4.... Travon is Mr. Electric," said Seider. "The kid can do anything he wants to do. He can play wide receiver, running back or defensive back. I won't say he's a once-in-a-generation player, but he could be one of those guys if he continues to take those steps."

Sorry to derail further, but he definitely dropped it one or two feet behind his last shot.

Again, though, he shouldn't have been DQ'd or withdrawn.

Agreed. To withdraw would have required an honorable man.

Tiger Woods played flag football at Stanford (Co-Ed) Once. That makes it OK for the Golf nuts to yak about Golf on the "depth chart board".

Look at the photos and the divot highlighted in the video. The divot highlighted in the video was not where his first shot was taken. That's the divot that shows up as being several feet in front of him in the photos of his two shoots. He probably thought that was his first divot, but the photos seem to show that it wasn't.

Also noticing:

- Walcott hopping over Saylor at X-Wr

- Sean Murray being knocked all the way down to 3rd string CB (heard he needed an attitude adjustment)

Talent adjustment as well.

JJ looking good. Canada looking good. Cam Warren getting lots of passes thrown his way, and catching all of them. Walcott and Nacho had several nice plays. Van Ackeren had a tremendous playing coming from safety to break up a long (almost) TD pass, and almost made a one-handed interception. Kirshner looks really big and muscular. Van looks bigger than I thought he was. Pierson has the potential to have a big year. Shaw looks good and very long in his kicks. The place kickers have been struggling a big, but were both perfect today. Those frosh o-lineman are big. There are alot of guys with unfamiliar numbers who seem to be good or have good potential. My impression is that there must be alot of depth and potential depth on this team.

Kirshner has put on about 15 lbs. He was already one tough SOB to bring down. Cannot imagine trying to bring him down with more weight. I am sure he would be no match for JCU though. :thumb:

I love Kirschner. And now that he is older, he is going to show what he can do if they give him any meaningful time in the game.

Thanks for forwarding, Brint's observations.

Nguyen was UM's team mvp and 2nd team all-conference rb, and averaged 5.9 yards per carry--and he got too many carries? Now that's pretty funny.

No offense to Nguyen, I thought he was great.

But his accolades and ypc were largely attributed to UM's big commitment to running the ball. Many feel B Kirsh could have ran for 5.9 as well... ect, ect.

Overrated. How do you know that Brett would not have averaged 7.0 yards a carry, and been first team all-conference. Oh, you don't. That's pretty funny.

Overrated my ass! 100% on every play and as quick and shifty in the first 10 or 15 yds as anyone in recent years.
The kid carried the team after "The Beast" went down. He earned the mvp!

No offense, but I question anyone who feels like Kirsh should have run more than Ngugen (not saying you said or think this). If Kirsh was so good, why wouldn't the running back coach turned coach not have recognized that Kirsh should have been carrying more of the load. He carried only against Liberty, No Colo and ISU. Against NC and ISU, he was 7-39 and 13-54. Contrast that with 15-159 and 11-107. Against Liberty, Nguyen had only 6 carries, and Kirshner ougtained him.
