D played their guts out today. Held EWU to their two of the three lowest point totoals of their season.

Whereas the offense played quite poorly. This one is entirely on the offense, on Henson and Gragg, and on a lot of drops, missed blocks, and general sloppy play. The O looked very unprepared for this game. In a way, I'm kind of happy that our "two headed monster" at OC are being cleaned out.[/quote]

+1

Even if Gregorak's stock is rising, this game will certainly cement the fate of Gragg as a potential HC candidate. That is to say, he should NOT be considered in any way at all!

Henson was trying to build his resume as a pro-style OC. That is why he keeps going for those internship things. Trying to apply the Dallas Cowboys scheme to the Griz was a stupid mistake that seems to have cost us a few games this year, including both EWU debacles. As for Gragg, good o-line coach. But that's about it. I would love my kid to have him as his position coach but would hate him as the OC or HC for his high school team.

Backing out the blocked punt, the interception return and Van's "fumble", the D did very well. Wasn't that 17 points? I think this was EWU's lowest TO of the season too.

Gregorak is a rising star. Hope he ends up staying in Missoula. Pretty sure he will. He certainly wants to.

I agree with PR regarding Gregorak. I just feel Ty is about 3 years from being ready to be the head coach for the GRIZ. I said at the beginning of the season, this season would be a make or break year for TG. As it turns out, he proved himself in my eyes with a very bright coaching future. Ditto that to Justin Green. :thumb:
This was a pretty big hit for Ty as a HC. He had the D rocking in the first half, usually, almost always he is the master at half time adjustments. In the biggest game of the year, he made no adjustments, he got smoked. 5 sacks in the first half and none in the second. Instead of staying within his mindset, he left town. The D absolutely kicked ass in the first half, and then got out-coached for the rest of the game.

The D stats don't look so bad and they were our hope to stay in the game, but they had numerous opportunities to make big plays and when it was most important it didn't happen. Too many whiffed tackles and wide open EWU receivers. Unlike our OCs, Baldwin always had the right play ready.

Really? The performance of our OL has gone steadily downhill since Bob Beers left.
