Thank you for having the courtesy to announce last week that we now have a head basketball coach and that one assistant will be kept.
Now that another 10 days have gone by, would it be too much to ask that you update us "fans" regarding what is probably going to be the head assistant position? I know that I am a mere fan who pays the bills, but I understand that UM has a history of hiring assistants to replace departing head coaches. Thus, I have an interest in that position.
Plus I would like to contemplate what that coach will bring to the mix. You see, I scour the internet to find every detail regarding Griz hoops. I will go to a recruit's home town newspaper to get background information. Thus, it helps when you tell me more about recruits than I have found.
But, in the case of this last assistant, I can't do much except wonder why you won't make the announcement. I know that I can wait until next November when I buy my first program, but I would like to know ahead of time. Too much to ask?
Now, perhaps Travis hasn't yet made a decision. Please announce that - if such is the case.
Or, perhaps Travis has made a decision but for various reasons can't make an announcement. Please announce that - if such is the case.
Our, perhaps UM's goal is to simply "dis" the fans and you will let us know when you have nothing better to do. Please announce that - if such is the case.
Please announce something. Please keep us in the loop to the same extent that you let us know when we have to have our money sent in to buy tickets.
A "fan" - by the way, the word "fan" is a derivative of the word "fanatic." A fan wants to be more than a paying customer. Please treat us accordingly.
