Dear Santa,

I think I have been pretty good this year. Well except for those few times when my love affair with Coors Light got the best of me. Here is a little background about me in case the Chinese have hacked your nice database. I am a Montana native, born and raised in Missoula. I graduated from UM. OK, I spent my Freshman year at MSU. But it is a well-kept secret, so don't tell anyone. Both of my daughters graduated from MSU. In fact, one was even a Bobcat Cheerleader. That was a tough time in my life, but I believe I was pretty well behaved.

Below is my wish list for this Saturday. I know it's early but this is a big deal.
  1. A Griz victory. Hopefully, by a comfortable margin. (See above reference to Coors Light)
  2. Let the current weather forecast hold. I understand it is December in Bozeman. But no arctic cold front, gale force winds or heavy precipitation would be appreciated.
  3. No significant injuries for either team.
  4. Have fans on both sides understand how special this game is. This week should be a blast for all of Montana but nasty, over-the-top rhetoric diminishes the fun.
  5. A size large long-sleeve t-shirt designed by a creative Montana artist commemorating this game.
  6. A Villanova victory, allowing the Griz to complete their revenge tour this year.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.

I got on the jumbo tron multiple times yesterday. The camera man was dressed as Santa, and to get his attention, I kept yelling to him, “you’re not Santa; you smell like beef and cheese!”

I’ll agree to add #3 &4 wholeheartedly to my list as well. This game is the biggest ever for the rivalry and the biggest ever for the State of MT. There is always some vitriol from each side but I’m sure we all have good friends on both sides.

Of course, I hope the Cats win but at the same time I’m just trying to soak in the excitement of this matchup in the semis because at the end of the day, I love good football and this rivalry. Hoping for a good clean game from both sides, fans included.

Very well done, except for the unfortunate inclusion of kerrs light. It is well known amongst real Montanans, not the yellowstone ilk, that kerrs light is not beer. Please venture up the gulch to the Blackfoot brewery, grab yourself a Blackfoot IPA keg, and get with real Griz supporters!!! Most likely your short stint in Bozeman is where you got onto this kerrs stuff. This a treatable affliction, and Go Griz!!!
