 ..what a chicken 'hit way of doing this entire thing....please state your reasons, then if justified you would get alum support but to be so vague only makes this way, way, worse than it already is...DAMN!Silvertip said:Engstrom should have opened with a better line than the trite "...a change of direction..." which explains nothing while letting GrizNation - devoid of any real explanation - runs wild with its own. Without commenting on the correctness of the decision I believe that the president has done irreparable harm to everybody associated with UM in the way he chose to handle it. You don't evict a pair of miscreants from your house with gasoline and a match if you care anything about the house.
To the Pollyanna's who say the healing shall now begin, I say DREAM ON! The consequences of today's action will continue far longer than anybody can possibly imagine.
And you thought George Dennison presented a poor leadership image...
I think he was directed by an entire board of individuals who govern the state university system. A majority of these individuals happen to be graduates of the state university, and all of them are illuminatis. They hold secret meetings in the basement of the Bozeman masonic temple.Spanky said:I would suspect that Engstrom was directed by another individual to terminate the two gentlemen.

I think the "fans" calling for Engstrom's head should be fired as Grizzly fans!
This is another problem with the way this was done. Some peoples emotions are going to get out of control. I can understand some of your reaction, but if you step back and look at it your arguments kind of sound like the rants of a child. "Shitcan him, shitcan them, shitcan everyone" isn't a grown up response. That is what emotions do to people. I don't think there will ever be any transparency to this situation, and we'll probably never get an answer. The people complicit in this decision are also the same people who would have to demand the transparency, and that isn't going to happen. If there was wrong doing, we'll have to wait for a civil case to expose it. I also think Engstrom was spineless, whether he actually did make this decision himself or was ordered to do it, but I'll refrain from the emotional response. My concern is with the damage this is going to do to the program. I kind of expect the NCAA to have an extended stay here in town soon. In fact, I'm starting to expect that may be what brought this firing on.Tokyogriz said:If that is the case the the BOARD OF REGENTS needs to be shitcanned for the millions this wrongful suit will cost UM. Transparency needs to be given right fing now about who ordered this done. They need to face the music.

Have you ever seen a good tort lawyer in action? They are ferocious. Unless there is some kind of smoking gun that we don't know about, a suit against the university could certainly be won regardless of the stated reason for the firing, or termination, or whatever you want to call it. Way too many questions surrounding this. Hope it doesn't happen, because in reality they are suing us also, not just the university.doebrmn said:If the paper is correct and UM simply chose not to renew Plu and O'day's contracts, how is it wrongful termination. When a contract ends, the job is over unless the contract is renewed. I've heard alot of whining about lawsuits, but seems no one has yet to explain how someone can sue for not having their contract renewed.

The Board of Regents still answers to the Citizens of Montana. Or is it the Board of Dictators?
