I recall, long ago, a story about a college coach, who preferred farming country of western PA as his recruiting ground. The story goes that when he saw a kid behind a horse, plowing, he'd ask the kid for directions. If the kid gave him directions by lifting up the plow w/ one hand to point, that kid would be on his team. Some of you may have a more accurate version of this story.
 
Not the first story of it's kind, but definitely one worth repeating. Country kids grow up tough, it shouldn't be a surprise to too many Montanans.
