That's a big kid for a HS linebacker! Hope he has the speed at that size to play LB at the college level. Otherwise we may be looking at a future lineman.

Hell he's already bigger than Schye, isn't he?

Comparing his Hudl measurements to schye's GoGriz, Schye is an inch taller and 15 lbs lighter. I'm assuming if we plan to keep him at LB and his Hudl bio is correct, we might slim him down some.

Looks like a nice player. Appears as though we may be finding a bit of a pipeline in SoCal at Vista,

Uperesa....now he was a big lad....

"Fuli" - one of my all-time favorite Grizzlies. What you wouldn't give for five just like him on this years' O-line. Brought a smile to my face. Thanks Spanky.

Everything looked good until i ran into his track and field numbers. At my 175 lbs. i could beat this guy by 8 feet in the shot put and 15 ft. in the discus. As big as he is, he is not a fast, or strong person. My numbers in high school were in the 50s. He sounds like a "project" to me.

Do you have any eligibility left?

For sure. He held an offer from a Pac 12 school so he must be a project. Might be his numbers aren't accurate, he isn't a track guy, he plays faster and stronger than he is, or you are just unusually awesome.

Discus and shot put are more about technique than about raw strength. And how do you know he's not fast?

Dennis Black owns the state record for shot put at slightly over 68 feet. I don't recall anyone offering him a football scholarship. State discus holder didn't play college football to me recollection either. Shot and discus and even javelin are about combining strength and speed with technique. There are many great football players who were sent to the discus and shot ring without any coaching and still threw over 50 feet. I know that at manh schools , the track coaches are football coaches that could take the football players into the weight room and work on sprinting and then take them to meets to let them do what they want to. I know some schools made sure the assistant football coaches were track coaches exactly for that reason and to supplement their football income. Football and basketball players that do track are a bonus, and not a detriment.

In addition, many football coaches are actually leaning more toward athletes instead of "football players." They are willing to look at the whole package and see the potential instead of the football player who may have hit his peak.

Looks slow but, has good vision, football smarts, patience, and knows how to wrap up. So he makes up for it.
