Since PR is at the game...I’ll start the thread. I’m watching the game. Brown is absolutely terrible, but Dartmouth has a solid defense. 13-0 green 8 min til half

33 10. Brown is terrible.

High 20's and wind. Tonight is supposed to be Boston's all time low on this date. Only 12,000 in attendance.

The suites were full. huge partying. Huge fun. Fenway is a better venue than I thought it would be. Apparently, a lot of football games used to be played in Fenway. Will be 2 more college games this falll.

We ran into the Brown kicker out in the bars after the game. He said he was only 1-2, but who gets to make a FG in Fenway. He was on a roll.

Dartmouth v. Princeton in Yankee Stadium in 2 years. Back in the day before a Princeton game, we had our Friday practice in old Yankee Stadium. It was totally cool.

PR, you might find this interesting.....the history of football at Fenway, including the old NFL Boston Yanks and the Patriots have played there. Although not listed here, I thought my Dad told me of attending old New York Giant exhibition games there.....he was a big Giants fan for that reason. During YA Title's time with them.

Oct. 14, 1944 – Notre Dame’s last appearance at Fenway. Notre Dame defeated Dartmouth, 64-0. ouch

Thanks, digger. UMass plays Maine in Fenway soon.

This game is today. Just ran into some former UMass players as I was checking out of my hotel, the one closest to Fenway. They said they would see, later today, the guys I played against, including Yogi Berra's son, a receiver. Said they would "all" be at the game and "tailgates" in the adjacent bars. Said UMass is getting better, but needs how to learn how to win.

Go Griz. I will be following the stats, as I attend the Dartmouth Food Club annual meeting. It's an event built around seeing how much weight can be gained over the weekend.

Best of luck on your successful attendance, and superior performance. We have confidence in your effort and skill.

Hey, PR! While at Navy OCS, Newport, RI, many yrs. ago, there were some Ivy League guys in my section. I heard them refer to Dartmouth as "The Animals." Are you aware of that?

Yes, true. From the old days when it was all male. Went coed in fall of '72. The main writer of the movie Animal House, the one who wrote the main outline/sketch, was a Dartmouth '63 and fraternity guy. When my Dartmouth friends and I first saw the movie, we thought it was a documentary. I felt the I "knew" all the characters in Animal House. Here's a link to a review of a book Chris Nelson later wrote. He has cult-like or god-like status within the old school segment of Dartmouth.
