When does STATS FCS do their midseason update to their Buck Buchanan watch list?

It will be pretty sweet to see two griz linebackers on the list. Also, we will likely see sneed added to the Walter Payton watch list.

I was just about to ask the same question regarding the update. Is it realistic to think that we will see both Buss and Olson on the list, or could adding Olson mean that Buss gets pushed off?

Over on AGS there is a professional scout who does weekly trackers for the various POTY awards. He has Buss and Olson as top five candidates for the Buck right now. Which is insane when you think about it.

Wow. That's wild.... And very, very cool.

Dante and Josh are awesome players to say the least. Let’s not forget the guys in the trenches that afford them the stats. When I played in cough cough 1989 for CMR Jack Johnson as an OLB our success was determined by our defensive Tackles drawing double teams and such to free us up and friggin clean up. My point is that even though we don’t get a lot of QB pressure from the front they are holding their own and allowing the linebackers to clean up. Old school football and I love it. Smack em in the mouth and make em yer B! I absolutely love those big boys on the D line and so does the linebacking core. Look at the stats. If it was any other way the safeties would be leading the stats. IMHO. I love me some Sims, Shaw, Tillman, If I was a linebacker. Not taking away from the linebackers because they are studs but so are the unheralded defensive lineman that give them the opportunity to get those stats. It is a team game folks and Hauck understands this. I personally feel this is a championship team in 3 years. I have not been this excited since 1996 after the griz won. Dave and his brother Craig and sis Amy are good people so don’t try to disprove or ruin this. Just my 2cents. Go Griz! It all come down to controlling the line on both sides of the ball.

I applauded Dante and Josh this weekend but my game ball goes to the defensive line. I played OLB for Jack Johnson in 1989 do I know the importance of a great defensive line to draw the double teams so that I and my ILB can run and tackle and make the plays. The griz defensive line draws ire by most because they do not have a powerful pass rush. I get it but they do have a fundamental sound and selfless crew that should be recognized. I would love to play behind this defensive line because I would seriously be making some noteworthy stats. So give props to the big guys formost. Just saying.

Agreed....and I think most on here recognize that fact.

What boggles my mind is how Dante has not yet been chosen the STATS player of the week on defense when his season numbers are so far and above everyone else. I guess all they care about is having a freak game rather than consistent production.

And his stats were BETTER than the guy who won defensive player of the week. I guess they have to give it to someone else to be nice...

The conference should just declare him the defensive player of the week for the season, and then pick the no. 2 defensive player each week. That would give others in the conference a chance for some recognition.
