Dante! Big Sky DPOTY!

Jonah Williams:

Outside the top 50 (in the Big Sky) in tackles.
18th in tackles for loss.
7th in sacks.
12th in fumble recoveries.
Not in the top 5 in any stat.

But he's a senior on one of the best defenses, so I guess he's the best player.

What a joke.

Congratulations to Dante.

It would be cool to see him charging presnap with the pose in the post above hovering over the center. With all the attention he is getting, he’d garner the QB’s attention.

Dante is such a tactician it would be entertaining to see a little Ray Lewis emotion and intimidation. Sneed gets the team jacked up, Mallory has brought some spark and attitude, a few less twists on the D-line and some early A gap bull rushes by Sims and Olson would send panic and establish direct push right up the middle.

Looking forward to the playoffs, Dante and the team are worth seeing live, would think it is a no brainer for folks to come out and support the team and get their butts in the stadium. Time to circle the wagons and show how much we appreciate the effort and commitment to get high playoff seeding. Time to crank up the cheer squads!!! GO GRIZ!!!

BUCK BUCHANAN AWARD (DEFENSIVE)
1. Dante Olson, Montana LB

2. Ron'Dell Carter, JMU DL

3. Sully Laiche, Nicholls DL

4. Christian Rozeboom, SDSU LB

5. Zach Hall, SEMO LB

Explanation: Dante Olson is just an animal. After racking up 151 total tackles last year, he has 152 tackles this year (1st in the FCS) along with 9.5 TFLs and 2.5 sacks. Olson is asked to do a lot in Montana's defensive scheme. But he's not just a between-the-tackles thumper. I got a chance to watch him in person and Olson's sideline-to-sideline speed at 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds is scary. This dude's heading to the NFL.

3 of the top 5 picked by Hero for offensive MVP are 3 QB's in the Big Sky, and the reason that Sneed, who missed too many games and then wasn't as effective when he came back, didn't do better in conference all-conference selections. Sneed was as good or better than than any of the 3, and probably had better stats before he got hurt (I didn't check), but I get why he didn't get more votes and why these 3 guys did. The conference had a lot of very good qb's this season.

And when it comes to just pure skill set, he's the best all-around quarterback in the FCS. Lance isn't good just because of NDSU's offensive system. The Bison offense is scoring 40 points per game (4th in the FCS) because of how good Lance is.

Ok, Trey Lance is a really good player, and I wish he were a Griz, but to say that he doesn't benefit from the system at NDSU is kind of ridiculous.

He can make any throw on the field and isn't relying on just safe, short to intermediate throws to complement the power-run game.

I've watched four or five NDSU games this year (thanks EPSN+), and he's constantly throwing to mostly wide open receivers and tight ends, which is 100% a result of the system (and talent) at NDSU. He's making the throws, but he's not once had to put his team on his back and use his arm to win a game. I'm not trying to knock the kid, and he should win the Rice award, but IMO there are other more deserving players for the Payton award this year.

Kid has thrown 23 TD passes and ZERO INT's. That is just unreal.

Right, but how many INTs would Dalton have if he were throwing to uncovered receivers 70% of the time?

Even when this league finally gets something right they find a way to fuck it up. #bsc

And Congrats to Dante!!!!

I don’t care if there’s not a D on the field...it’s hard to go 23-0.
