Sounds awesome. Thx.
Welcome to Griz Nation! Just wait until your first game in Washington Grizzly Stadium…Dane Parker is my son. He is very excited to be part of Griz football as am I.
Just to update those of you who are interested in the type of kid you’re getting, he is legit 6’1 and long and now is in the 190-192 range.
He is a really really good athlete, without being elite. Meaning he’s not running a 10.4 100, but he comes downhill and smacks and will always play bigger than his size because he’s fearless and plays pissed off, but in control. If he was elite anywhere it’s his IQ. He plays the game very cerebral and that more than compensates and most of the time puts him further ahead than those with more speed, etc…he played in the toughest most competitive league in HS and had back to back 90+ tackle seasons. He’s a field general type that will know where everyone should be and direct traffic.
In his Hudl film he was asked to play deeper by design and they didn’t ask him to do a lot of exotic stuff. They played very conservatively for no good reason. But he’s capable of doing a lot of things very well. He has incredible ball skills and could be a receiver if he wanted to play the other side of the ball.
thanks for having him(us)! You’re getting a great player and great kid. I’m biased, but I believe in time you’ll love seeing what he brings to Griz football!!
Welcome to Griz Nation and egriz! For your own sanity you might not want to spend a lot of time on here lol.Dane Parker is my son. He is very excited to be part of Griz football as am I.

Welcome to Griz Nation! You have me so excited to see your son grow in the program. I'd imagine you know this already, but we have a VERY fun defense for a kid like him to play in and we have a long history of guys who sound a lot like your son who go on to be absolutely great safeties and linebackers here. Another poster compared him to Fouch, a big hitting safety we recently lost, and that is high praise around here.Dane Parker is my son. He is very excited to be part of Griz football as am I.

Am I a big fanboy of Tim Hauck? Yes, I am. But objectively, who better to mentor a young guy who may not be the fastest Safety on the field, but plays smart, directs traffic, gets to the right spot, place angry and can hit? Kind of sounds like young Mr. Parker here has found the perfect coach to take him forward. Lets go! Looking forward to hearing his name a lot in a couple of years. And safeties coach and co-DC is as good as any safeties coach in nation, played 13 years in NFL, and is a great guy.
Thank you for the welcome and kindness! We are very excited about his switch. The military isn’t for everyone, especially a kid that doesn’t come from a military family. This will be a great fit for him and for our family as well. I can already tell that much. Secretly I was hoping Montana was going to be where he ended up the first time around. The brief little bit we were exposed to on a visit, we both knew this was a special place. And clearly the best stadium in the Big Sky!!Welcome to Griz Nation! You guys are joining one of the most passionate fan bases in the nation, and he is coming in to a staff with a ton experience even at the NFL level coaching safeties. Absolutely love to have you, and hope you all love Missoula and Washington Griz stadium. It is a special place, and can't wait to have you. Feel free to reach out on the DMs when you guys are coming up for games, and can point you in some good directions.![]()
We currently don't have anyone on defense wearing the number so it's certainly possible.Hopefully my son will get to wear that same # 4 jersey and do it proud!!
Man, I love you already! So glad you had a great experience coming here, and that everything fell into place. If other guys are comparing him to Nash before he even came here, I love to see that. Dane is going to have a ton of fun playing in this defense, and it should allow him to play very much downhill, which sounds like what he has been wanting to do since high school.Thank you for the welcome and kindness! We are very excited about his switch. The military isn’t for everyone, especially a kid that doesn’t come from a military family. This will be a great fit for him and for our family as well. It’s funny you bring up Nash Fouts! Dane’s younger brother (9th grade) trains with a group of Coaches that trained Nash when he was in HS at a place called Rise Football Academy. One of those coaches split and went to start his own football training center Called Heir Academy. his name is Reggie Jones. Reggie has worked with a TON Of big time recruits from the area and when he was helping Dane through the recruiting process, he told me that “Dane reminds me of a kid I coached that’s now balling at Montana named Nash Fouts…and I think Nash wears #4 like Dane!?”
So your comparisons definitely have some validity!
The aforementioned younger brother Luke trains with the current Rise Academy group who is Coached by Mike Westbrook(played at Montana a while ago) and HE was part of that group that originally trained him and even HE said Dane reminded him of Nash Fouts.
Hopefully my son will get to wear that same # 4 jersey and do it proud!!
We've got you! Griz nation is one of the most welcoming fan bases in the country. Everyone will be happy to have you, and you will have a ton of fun with the traditions.Thank you! Gonna be a lot of fun! I and currently in my second year on the coaching staff at Puyallup HS. I never got to coach Dane as I was brought in after, but I’m excited to be able to help kids that get Montana offers to understand that it is a great place to play football! It will be fun to bump shoulders with the Montana staff that comes rolling in to the HS workouts for recruiting season.
I’m already looking into season tix in addition to the player allocation. Not even sure what that is yet(?).
I look forward to meeting the long standing members of the Griz family to help integrate us into the traditions on gameday and the of course the rivalry with the school we won’t mention.![]()
Thanks for the link!! Definitely a lot of seats taken but I should be able to find some great seats! I’m used to paying Husky Seasons tix and can’t believe how reasonable Griz home games are!Season tickets are still available. I don't know anything about player allotments. Maybe someone else knows.
