what are you going to say if the unthinkable happens and the game on Saturday doesn't turn out the right way.
We'll say that the kittens aren't the only team in MONTANA that can be GOOD LOSERS! :poke:

what are you going to say if the unthinkable happens and the game on Saturday doesn't turn out the right way.[/quote] I'll say.....sh*t! okay , after questioning this team many, many, times this year,,,I'LL say it ,,they will not lose to the kittys at home..3 times? Yes, 3 times!..the "D" will be lock down,,Stauds will find his shot again..Taylor will too...the bigs will be active and get rebounds and Q will continue to block shot after shot, then AJ & Junior will be running this thing is full speed and they will drop the Cats by 12-15..so after all, it will be similar to football. Then on to Ogden ..to meet the vikes and to continue this run and finally play some ball against Weber and conclude with a net cutting and another Griz banner! Go Griz,,time to play up to the potential! ;)

The Big Sky athletic directors voted a few weeks ago to reduce the Big Sky post-season tournaments (both men's and women's) to just four teams, and go back to Friday-Saturday road trips, both cost-savings moves. The presidents will consider the proposals, along with a number of others, at the Big Sky meetings in May. Friday-Saturday games will really reduce the quality of basketball and make it much more difficult to get road wins. The league tried this in 2001-2002 to cut back on classroom time lost by athletes, but it was not a good experience.

I'm assuming the four team tournament will start next season?

I actually like the 4-team tournament idea. It will reduce the possibility that a 11-19, 6th place team gets hot at the right time and therefore represents (poorly, obviously) the conference in the NCAA Tournament.

Plusses for friday-saturday games:
1. More people would watch friday games then Thursday games. Thursday being school night makes it harder for some people to watch them.
2. Players do not miss as much school.

Minuses for friday-saturday games:
1. Real horrible travel situation in some cities. NAU is one of them. Back in the old days (70s-80s) when there were friday-saturday games, NAU and WSU would be paired together and they would be Thursday-Saturday while all other games were friday-saturday. those two schools complained enough and often and thursday-saturday games became the norm for all games. Guess not fair other teams had thursday-Saturday going to their place, and NAU and WSU had to go to places like Bozeman and Missoula on friday-Saturday. 1 less day of preparation.

As for the tournament, I say cut it to 4 teams like it was back in the old days. there isn't enough fan support to have 6 teams.

Wouldn't the Friday/Saturday schedule require a trip from Flagstaff to Sacramento after a friday game in time for a saturday game? How would you do that? Perhaps bus to Phoenix after the game friday night and then fly Saturday morning and play Saturday night? Pretty tough for the road team, I think.

Thats how it use to be... when the conference was good.

OR we choke in basketball when it matters. Now only if you could get your football team to win when it matters.

Like in national championships where the Bobcats are undefeated?

Yes! Please tell us about that again Great, Great Grandpa. What was it like when they invented leather helmets??

Well since we still are playing our basketball season, I won't get into football. We have another game to think about. You guys have football season to look forward to.

Your basketball season will be over soon enough. It's sad for me to say, but beating the Griz is no big deal.
