Portland state has a regular season game left? http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/_/id/2502/portland-state-vikings" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Weber did it last year to get Lilard his medical redshirt so he could have another year of elligibility, though that looks like he won't need it at this rate.

Anyone know if PSU is doing the same for one of their guys?

The game is vs Seattle, an independent (no conference tournament), and has been scheduled all season. Weber scheduled St Mary's last year during the season to ensure they played enough games for Lillard to get a medical redshirt, but in the end wasn't really needed as Weber ended up playing enough games without it.

Ah, thats right. I knew it was a BSC school but obviously was wrong about the team!

Thanks.

Weber was worried about making sure they played enough games to make sure Dame got his medical redshirt so before the season ended St Mary's agreed to host us as well they figured it could be another win for them since they would be a bubble team if they didn't win the WCC tournament.

Lillard played in 9 games out of 32 which was 28% and couldn't exceed 30%.

In hindsight...

1. Lillard didn't need the medical redshirt as he won't use his senior year of eligibility next year
2. St Mary's lost the WCC tournament title game and still went to the NIT

*Lillard is now expected to be the 11th pick in the draft by the mock draft sites and first point guard drafted.

I've been curious about the status of Reader. Anyone know if he will a redshirt this year. Or did he take one the prior year?

He has already used his Redshirt. Bummer.

maybe so, but if he is the 11th best to be taken, I would expect that Mr. Cherry with considerable talent and getting better will find himself also a hot commodity next year. Lillard is AN athlete, he will do very well in the NBA...I have seen hiim play only a couple of times and he does not disappoint!!! He will be impossible to replace...best of luck to him.

Frankly, it is hard for me to believe he is rated that high. He is good and all, but he's not that great of a defender. And the game last week showed how he can disappear at times when faced with tough D.
