D still needs a lot of work

Some of you all need to go root for the bobcats or something

Some people need to lay off the sugar, this defense is piss poor and stating such doesn't mean I am not a Griz fan or rooting against the Griz.

I love the D. Some of you guys would prefer vanilla forever. Seems that Semore likes to be aggressive, but so do the players and as such, we will give up yardage.

Total agreement with you

I like things that work. This defense is not working.

I think the players we have on D are fantastic! I believe the coaching of these players is crap!

this is an amazing defense talent-wise

Is it?
Buss + McKinley + Schye + Shaw + Strong

Yeah....this is a good defense that is being criminally underutilized.

Weren't there complaints about this exact thing, regarding certain NFL linebackers, and a certain unnamed defensive coordinator? Really never ends huh...

It's the essence of eGriz

Could someone explain how a starting defensive player gets "under-utilized" or how they can be utilized better?

I understand that a good player on the bench may not be getting enough playing time.

I assume they mean underutilized because of the flawed scheme employed.

Okay, then how would they get utilized more in what kind of improved scheme? I truly don't understand what they are talking about. And, what is the flawed scheme?

I have no idea. I'm a sugarcoater who never played the game past 9th grade.

I'm with ya, the D still needs to improve and lets hope that they will as the season progresses.

But with my maroon glasses on, what I saw from the D was...

26 points given up. 7 from a kickoff return and the final TD. We are a team and offense that expects to score 30+ points and needs to do so to have a chance to win.

Big stops in tough spots, 6 punts and 2 turnover on downs. Huge interceptions.

PSU QB went 18-42. Thats pretty rough and he wasn't terrible at slinging it. If you take away his one big run, they wouldnt have had a 100 yd rusher.

That brings me to my only major negative. That defensive scheme we ran on that particular drive where the QB broke it, we were asking to give up a big play. They whole drive, I hated the way the D was lined up and sure enough.....

Overall, I was really happy the way the D responded after EWU. A long way to go to be a championship caliber D but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that this is a team thats going to improve every week.

p.s. I loved some the looks with Jace Lewis and Dante Olsen out there. I think these guys are going to come on the second half of the season. I would love to see Dante off the edge more and can't wait until Jace and Strong get the clubs of their hands.
