Still plenty of season left, but kind of cool anyway.
Bound to be. When the Griz take care of business on Thursday, they should move up at least a spot ... and maybe two.GrizBall said:Weber also plays at UNC on Thursday. Griz til I die said:SUU’s overrated. Both of their conference losses at home Have come by double digits. Weber looks like the clear cut favorite.
I agree with your basic premises: SUU overrated and Weber the team to beat.Griz til I die said:SUU’s overrated. Both of their conference losses at home Have come by double digits. Weber looks like the clear cut favorite.
oldrunner said:Weber won by 8. However, anywhere else on earth, any other 3 refs on earth, and that game is a 25 point blowout. I'm so glad that SUU is leaving the BSC and I hope that Weber never plays in that crap hole again. We should have never endorsed their entry into the BSC. I hope that you guys kick their butts as well. It's the second worse place to visit west of the Mississippi. Grand Forks is slightly ahead for the lead in that category.
See you guys in O Town next week. Bring a couple thousand of your closest friends.![]()
Griz lost two very close, very poorly officiated games in Cedar just last year days apart. One of which the Griz lost solely because the refs called a foul on a putback attempt 20 feet from the rim with no time left. Any complaints of SUU reffing are legit.GrizBall said:oldrunner said:Weber won by 8. However, anywhere else on earth, any other 3 refs on earth, and that game is a 25 point blowout. That is an interesting take. Is just seems opposite of most complaints in this situation which seem to suggest that the departing team gets the unfair whistle. Not questioning you, just interesting.

Coming into tonight’s game, Weber and SUU had the weakest in-conference strengths of schedule according to KenPom. Weber #11, SUU #10. Griz #3. PSU#1. Sac #2.

I looked at schedules last weekend and divided the conference in 2. Bottom 5 five are pathetic, every top 5 should sweep them if you think about it (I know, they won't but won't lose many) and top 5 with EWOO in the middle. Griz were 2-2 counting Ewoo, the others had only played 1 or 2 intertop games cause postponements. Actually NoCo was 3 and 1 with 2 road W's vs the top group. To me that puts them in the driver's seat at this point. Hold serve vs the dregs and see who can pull off a road win or 2 vs the cream. I'm going to guess 16 should win it, if it's 15 I bet there is a tie. Should know a lot more as makeup games are thrown into the mix.

These are good points, but I would also add NoCo has by far the worst loss of the top group (a home loss to Sac. St). After Weber plays NoCo at NoCo tomorrow they don’t have any more road games against the Top 5. They already have road wins against MSU and SUU, which means even with a loss to NoCo tomorrow, they have played the Top 4 even on the road (2-2).
NoCo still has road games against Weber and the Montana road trip.
Still a lot games to be played, but I would give the edge to Weber.

The crowds have been slow to come back after the whole COVID thing. Seems to be getting a little better as we go on. Same thing happened with football. It may take a while to build it back up.GrizBall said:oldrunner said:Weber won by 8. However, anywhere else on earth, any other 3 refs on earth, and that game is a 25 point blowout. Oldrunner - watching the WSU/EWU game now. Crowd looks underwhelming. Not trying to troll, just genuinely interested in your opinion. Monday night? EWU not interesting enough? Expectations for Thursday? Thx.
It's not so much about the unfair whistle, It's more about the crazy azz things that go on when you get refs who were the last resort because no ref worth his salt wants to do a game in that crap hole city. Before they entered the BSC you would get, as refs, a couple of local cops and the town undertaker. It's a little bit better than that now, but not by much.GrizBall said:oldrunner said:Weber won by 8. However, anywhere else on earth, any other 3 refs on earth, and that game is a 25 point blowout.
