Coyle Pre 2

Game is being shown again at 10am (mtn) today on nfl network. Hopefully the entire game this time.

they switched over from the new england game well after the start of the seahawks game. by that time, brock had one solo and one assisted tackle. during the time i watched, he made several assisted tackles. on one play, third and short for san diego, he met the runner head on at the line of scrimmage, but got pushed back enough they got first down. second half kickoff, brock got downfield and made an unassisted tackle. on replay, they then isolated on him charging down the field to make the tackle.

during the game, montana was mentioned several times. bock huarsd said, in effect, coyle is a tough grizzly, run tackling will be no problem for him, pass coverage is the issue.

on the seattle times blogs this morning, pete carroll raved about his play, and another blogger said after two stellar games, coyle is pretty much a lock to make the team.

(On Brock Coyle….) “He had 8 tackles from what I heard. He had a couple good knocks. He’s playing really good football, we’re really excited about him. He’s done nothing but positive stuff in every way. Like I said before, for him to jump in there and command that group on defense and call the calls and make the adjustments, and really not have a hitch to it, that’s really a statement of his preparation and smarts and his background. And, he’s tough, so we’re really excited about him."

You guys know I am a bobcat fan but I am a Bozeman resident. Watched Brock in high school. Last night he was awesome. He is a lock to be on the roster and before pre-season is over , he may be a starter. He is a great kid with so much heart. I have never seen Pete Carroll compliment a player so much. Kudos to Brock. He makes Montana people proud.

My dad, brother and I drove to Seattle to watch the Seahawks game on Friday, and it was great seeing Brock run out as a starter and get his name called. The stadium erupted as he ran out on the field, more so than some of the other starters not named Sherman or Wilson. During the game, Brock was flying all over the field making plays. He did a great job! I'm looking forward to getting his jersey once it becomes available. :thumb:

Heath Farwell (#55) has been playing most of the 3rd in place of BC.

Here is an interesting write up on the situation. It sounds like it's one or the other. We'll see.

My money says Brock beats him out and makes the 53-man roster. He tied for the team lead in tackles tonight with 8. In the post-game news conference Pete Carroll again had several good things to say about him and said the quality of his performance "....was a reflection of his smarts, preparation, and background."

Farwell was right there with 6 tackles, and 2 pass deflections. I'd say better scenario is they keep both.

No chance the Hawks keep both Coyle and Farwell...it is definitely one or the other.

A starter? C'mon 33. You're getting way ahead of yourself. Don't let your emotion get the best of you.

Are you on crack?

If the starter isn't healthy at the start of the season, who is going to start other than the guy who started all of the preseason games and played well?

Are you on heroin?

If Wagner is hurt, they will move KJ Wright to the Middle. Coyle and Farwell are basically trying to fill the 3rd MLB/special teams spot.

PR, I would ask, but I already know...
