I laughed at the running into the kicker replay. He was in the background cringed when he saw it and eyes rolled and went right to the ref. Excited for him.

Ash has been suffering that Stitt called up West Virginia and got credited with their 70 point run up. He wanted to be known for a game-saving call, too. He saw it unfolding before his eyes. He knew the call. He dialed the number for the Seattle Seahawks, he would show Stitt a thing or two ...

that play call at that moment in the biggest game of the year on the greatest stage on earth, will go down as incomparably the dumbest play call in the history of sport.
of course, there is the "local angle," the 2000 championship game against georgia southern when we were running the ball down their throats behind yohance humphrey with the game winding down, and suddenly some bright coordinator thought, "hey! we're montana! we gotta pass the ball!" i can still see those georgia southern d linemen, pot bellies heaving, hands on hips, absoutely defenseless against humphrey and our o line. what would have been out third championship, fluttering away on wobbly passes. i'll never forget--or forgive.
