A Missoula woman’s order of protection against an online troll has survived a legal challenge.

The protection order expired two days after Vanatta's ruling, and Davey said she does not plan to seek a new one.

“The posts/tweets were not a matter of public discourse but were true threats and incitements to breach the peace under the law,” the judge concluded, upholding the order.

Both sides continued with this to "prove a point" this will be appealed, I would bet. Even though the order has expired, was the original order Constitutional? How far does free speech extend?
 
Threats and attempts to intimidate are not free speech, are not public discourse and are not protected by free speech. Can’t imagine he’d waste his money to appeal. Doubt that the MT Supreme Ct would find him very sympathetic.

I absolutely subscribe to the Missoulian. I don't agree with every thing they do, but newspapers are absolutely essential as a counter source to lying despots like Putin, Little Kim and the Orange gasbag.

Some parts very true. I saw her at a game last season (she seemed to be enjoying the festivities). I don't see it as a "in your face" to the Griz or BH. I think she was and is a fan. Some people like the Griz no matter who the coach is.

Easy, there are a few on this board that get easily "triggered". Common sense, critical thinking and objectivity are not welcome by many.

Daveys can't be included in you insightful opinion. She's the one who started the online petition to keep BH from becoming the Griz HC. That was a personal attack on BH. AG1 reacted as he did, with words, just like Daveys. What goes around comes around. Nothing came of AG1s 'egregious' post, not a damn thing. And, Daveys goddamned petition fell flat. It took 363 days to get a ruling on this? Doesn't pass the sniff test. I've never met AG1 or Daveys, wouldn't know either of them if I were in an elevator with both of them. Of course, I'd probably get a strong suspicion once the fight started next to me. :shock:
