It’s been hard as the momentum didn’t seem to come until the last three weeks, and 2 of those were still close games. I think the mentality at this point should be that we need to be playing for a seed and win out heading into cat griz which should be the decider of a top 4 seed vs bottom 4 seed.

Really I think the teams mentality is going to be win the week that is in front of them and improve each week. Which they have now done for several weeks. The confidence should only continue to build now.

How different would the vibe and overall feeling about this year's team be had they decided to go with McDowell a couple games sooner? I think we could have had a win at NAU and the Ferris State win would not have been as close. Thoughts?

I'm guessing the OL would not have quit in Flagstaff.

Well, we went up by 11, then went 3 (-1) trying to "close it out". Davis got teh ball back and marched 55 yards in 5 plays trying to get the tying score before fumbling with 1:18 left. Idaho was the ONLY game we actually had a lead greater than 11 points.

Biggest leads were against Idaho (20), Davis (11) and ISU (8). Crazy.

Hell, taking that one step further, ALL (except Utah Tech) of our wins we've never had a big lead. Butler was just 8 points until we scored again midway through the 4th. Then UT Tech, then Ferris, where we TIED until we scored in the third, and hung on to win by 7 points.

So, biggest leads have been:
UT Tech (43)
Idaho (20)
Davis (11)
Butler (15 - final margin)
ISU (8 - final margin)
Ferris (7 - final margin)

That is a shiteload of pressure to put on the defense week in and week out.

Obviously if we don't win out a #2 seed is out of the realm of possibility.
