Could Coaching Rumors be a Distraction?

Delaney's announcing his retirement was the best thing that could happen for this team. This team has more motivation to send Delaney out on top, the best way a coach should go out. Also keep in mind Hynson (sp?), Gragg, and Gregorak are auditioning for possible promotions or to stay on board next season. All this has removed the reigns off our key players and staff. The staff and players are 100% in control of their destiny now with the reigns off.

The GRIZ beat EWU with a dominating defense and solid offense this week!!!

I think this is more of a distraction for EWU. They are the one that has a coach they want to hang on to. What are the chances EWU gets another Baldwin quality coach. Face it that area of Washington is sort of a pit.

The Griz have know Delaney would be leaving and been playing on such. The Griz are in the hunt for a new coach.

To me worrying about a coach leaving is more of a sites room than knowing your already looking.

Lot of coaching rumors for both UM and EWU this week. Balwin to UM, Baldwin to CSU, Hauck to UM...etc.

Baldwin says he's not interested in UM, which is probably true (though if he had a sudden change of heart two days after the season is over, it wouldn't be the first time such a thing happened). My question, though, isn't who is going to end up at UM next year, but whether anyone thinks all of the rumors could be a distraction for the players (of either team) on Saturday?

We've seen this before at UM, where the Griz are in the heat of a playoff race and there are rumors that a coach is about to leave, and I think one could argue that it's been a distraction before. Thoughts?

So Monday?

Highly doubt they announce a new coach before the Griz season is over and the new coach's season is over...
