My daughter is attending Purdue and I saw this posted on their page. Thought you guys might get a kick out of what they have done for audience participation for their intro. The video isn't the greatest, but you get the idea. I imagine that once they get everyone on board, it will be pretty cool.
Details: they get the audience to download the "Purdue Lights" app to their phone, then during the intro, turn on the app. The app syncs with the intro and pulses the flash on the phone. Everyone in the audience is asked to hold their phone up to create a lightshow that takes up the entire arena.
Leave it to an engineering school to think of this.
