He should get this year of eligibility back right? He was injured early in the first game of the season and did not play the rest of the season, look forward to seeing him out there next season.

Actually it was more like four or five games into the season. Even if he does get awarded a medical red shirt from the NCAA, a torn Patella is very difficult to rehab.

The safety position will need to be heavily recruited..the priority. A JC transfer or FBS drop down is definitely needed to help sure things up.

He was a redshirt freshman this season I believe, but the injury season is a gray shirt or something like that.

By rule, if he played through 4 games, he isn't eligible for medical redshirt. The NCAA relaxed hardship rules last year, so if he meets the criteria, he'll likely get the year back.

Even if Lebsock can come back from injury, he is more of an outside backer. The plain truth is that the Griz need to get more athletic at the safety position to compete in the new BSC. The current starters just don't measure up and probably never will. Look what ND did to them. I would go the California JuCo route. There is "good" talent there. Recruiting Jacob Coogan was an attempt to "tap" that pipeline. He was someone who could run a 4.5 and hit like a "freight train". Unfortunately, his career ended because of injury. You just aren't going to find many players like that in South Dakota, Montana or Eastern Washington IMO. The only other option is to move a current corner back to safety.

Colt Anderson and Shann Schillinger were Montana boys and Stull was from Idaho I think, those were some pretty talented safeties.
