I’d much rather lose now than later in the year.

On this we agree. That’s why i was literally laughing out loud reading shit from people in the game thread last night about how “we’re toast”, “maybe we get an at large”, “put Brown in for the rest of the year and build for the future”….f###[#] comical. This team is now on its 2nd string QB, it’s 4th string RB, etc., etc. You play your best players and I will always trust Bobby’s judgement about who those players are.

People act like we’re doomed. Tell me this team that goes 10-1 with a win over FBS top 20. And only loss is on the road to a top 10 FCS conference opponent by 5 doesn’t get a top 4-5 seed. Also would include beating what will likely be a top 10 Cats. That’s insane.

Eastern won this thing with a great quarterback, receivers, and line work. Until Montana can get consistent production from the offensive line we will always be in a “can we score enough” to win this game against good teams. The thing that puzzles me is why are we continually having offensive line discussions. Is it coaching? Is it scheme? Is it players? But this has been going on since Stitt’s second year. One would think this would have been resolved by now. I mean seriously UC Davis, msu, eastern, and Weber seem to always have good offensive lines. Are we not developing these young men and having to rely on transfers? Until this unit gets its poop in a group quarterbacks will continue to struggle in this offense.

By the way UC Davis has the inside track on winning the conference. Eastern, weber, Montana and msu get to beat up one another. With this loss another one definitely puts us in the at large category.

And if we win out it puts us in the top 5 seed category. That’s every season bro.

Must have watched a different game than me.

If the QB has 5 seconds to make a pass, that's adequate protection. The problem came back to Cam not making correct and fast enough reads. He stares down his receiver. If we are lucky he'll look at a second progression, usually not though. His decision making is slow, most of the time. It's like he doesn't actually know the playback. Just knows the hot route lmao. Cam is a vanilla qb in a vanilla offense. But, with Sneed our offense was way more dynamic. So we might be running this vanilla offense for him. Any person with any sort of football IQ can predict wtf we are going to do. Each and every single f###[#] play.
You can see all that, including receiver coverage and separation, without the benefit of game film breakdown that the coaches have. You must be really good.

This is the best UM team I've seen in years - even with the injuries. Dominated for most of the game & had a chance to win it.
The D is awesome & the O line's come a long way - they looked gassed in the 4th quarter but they deserved to be gassed - they played their hearts out. Hope UM heals up fast & does MT proud this fall. Eastern's going to be a problem for most teams including the Cats - but they always are.
