Congrats to the Cats, But ...

Agree on Crews--glad Bobby sent him packing--disagree on on the state of our program--I think we're in great shape !!! Remember, this was their 5th or 6rh consecutive game after their bye. And this was our 12th consecutive game with no bye.

Agree, MSU made two more plays--pic 6 and the blocked FG. But also realize this:

Our O outscored their 0: 28-24 pts.

Our D really outplayed their D by a little-- Our D gives up 24 pts. vs. their D @ 28. We have 4 sacks, they have 2.

The play that cost us the game and won it for them was the Pic 6. As Bobby would say, good on them--Keali'i's only really bad throw all day.

Why is this important ? Go back 16 years or so--maybe Bobby's last year of Tour # 1, 2009: Weber beats us in regular season, and we beat them in the playoffs.

Earlier this week, Bobby said there was a good chance for a Brawl II in the semi's. I agree and even though this one will be in Boz Angeles, if--IF--this game happens, I like our chances !!! ( if there is a 2025 Brawl II, look for our D to spy Lamson a little better.)

Finally as we head into the playoffs, we finally will get a first-round bye to rest up and heal up a little before our first playoffs game on Friday or Saturday, Dec. 5th or 6th.

MSU is good--they ain't invincible. !!!

Go GRIZ !!!
We won't tackle so poorly at home. Semifinal is a whole different animal but I would relish a shot to play you again at our place.

Great points Nero. And the Griz … wait for it.. lost. Lost again to the cats. The cats. And the selection committee will hammer the Griz for scheduling 8 (a record fc number) home games. Schedule 8 home games to go far in the playoffs then lose. We have seen this before.

Fiddle Nero, play that fiddle.

And Merry 🎄 Christmas to you as well, Ebenezer--be nice to Tiny Tim. !!!

The selection committee won't hammer the Griz for anything. They will reward them for their season and for the 3 pt loss to the Cats, with a pick 6 in the mix. The selection committee doesn't look at the number of home games. What a stupid comment.
You are a knowledgeable person and I hope you are right. But all season long the selection committee has indicated that the Griz schedule is a negative, and now with 0 wins over a playoff team the committee has a chance to send a message - schedule competition or schedule for a record. I think the committee will send a FCS message. Hope I’m wrong but don’t think I am. I see a 5/6 seed for the Griz tomorrow (and a lot of howling).

If they give us a 5 after a 3 point loss to the 2 seed and no other blemishes, we need to get the hell out of this subdivision.
Would be just another reason to add onto the pile we already have. Thankfully most people it seems have us as the #3 Seed, nothing against Lehigh but a few Big Sky teams below us would be undefeated with their schedule.

Actions on display are a reflection of their disciple and moral character instilled in them by their coaches. Bobby wouldn’t tolerate that and we can be thankful of the program he runs!

Cat made more plays and deserved to win. Griz made too many small mistakes especially in first half. Griz D couldn't stop Cats on last long drive. And UM missed about 5 key tackles, mostly in the middle when we had a tackler in position and he couldn't make the play. Some were easier than others.

And then the pick 6 and blocked FG in a 3 pt loss. Good FG block by Crews. UM's lineman must have inadvertently helped elevate Crews.

Stats ended up fairly even. Cats had 5-11 3d down conversions, and 2-2 on 4th. UM was 7-12 and 1-1. Cats had a few more first downs and few more yards. Plays were almost the same. TOP was 32-28.

Lamson had very good game passing and running, and, again, no picks. Impressive on 2 early picks in the season. 18-20 passing. Long was 27 to I think to a TE. He was sacked 4 times.

I have said all season that he, Davis and Dowler are very good. Lamson hurt us. Davis was 15-106 for 6.1. Dowler had only 3 receptions. Jones was 9-28 for 5.1, and had 4 receptions for 31.

Ah Yat was good except for the pick. 26-32 for 186. Sacked twice. I don't think he ran or scrambled after he hurt his leg. Gillman 15-132 for 8.8 per carry. And 5 receptions. Davis had 10 receptions. Deck had 4. Thought he had a nice game. Cats kept UM from getting long passes too, 28 yards. Cats kept 2 safeties deep most of time.

Taylor, the Cat LB, had 11 tackles andnice game. Eiden and Brott each had 2 tackles. Eiden had a sack. 3 UM DL had a sack.

I'm good with the game and the result. Both teams played well or fairly well, but, as I said, Cats made more plays. And the pick 6 and blocked FG were keys in the game. Cats made those plays and UM didn't. I don't agree on the hold called against 84 on our called back TD. UM could have used that TD. Would have changed the game. Such is life.

Griz on the road for semi-finals, assuming they keep winning. So, tougher road to Nashville, but that's okay. Griz can win those games. Hopefully, UM didn't have any major injuries. I expect Loud back by next game. That will be a big help and lift. A week off will be good.

UM to recovered that fumble by Cat sideline, when UM had 4 tacklers on the runner and the ball squirted past them.

Again, nice game Cats. I'll still take Ah Yat, Gillman, Wortham and Davis over any Cat.

I bet one Cat $100. Don't even remember who. I assume he'll get me know. Message venmo to me. I have money left over from some bets I made last year, on whether Cats would beat every Dakota team they played.
I agree that both teams played well but the cats just made a couple more plays.
I was surprised how well the griz offense moved the ball against the cats. I was surprised that either team could run the ball. I do think the cats are the better team but if they do play again in Bozeman or Nashville that the game will be a tossup.
You owe me a $100. I'll take a check, cash or venmo.

I didn't realize the committee took pick six interceptions into consideration. What a stupid comment. I do realize that Karma was on full display on that play though. Do you?

It was a Big Game and we know the record on those. One team made more mistakes than the other and one team could not stop the other when it was crunch time. It was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Cats so hopefully Vigen moves on and empties the cupboard or another streak in the bad way is coming. Not being able to to the + 1 running once again rears its ugly head against this
Defense scheme. Side note it has been talked about in the past that Bobby wanted Taco but not Caden and cats said yes to the pair, Caden scored the pick 6 so sure got the last laugh there. Crews blocking FG hurts being he is from Missoula but can’t blame decision by Bobby there given the circumstances. Bottom line Cat program is in better shape at this point and that’s sucks
It’s not hard to recruit good talent when you have absolutely no moral code. They will let anyone on their team, anyone!

Naa. 3 or 4. Book it.

With all of that, you failed to mention that MSU pretty easily scores at the end of the game if they want to. While it's going to show up as a 3 point loss for UM, in reality, could have easily been 6-10. UM knew MSU was going to run the ball and couldn't stop them. That right there pretty much sums up the game.

Impressively fought by both squads, but there's no doubt as to who was the better team today.

Nobody is able to tackle either Gillman anywhere. I don’t think Monte has been brought to the ground before the whistle on any of his plays. He usually stays upright until after the whistle
