Thank you to the SR's and their families. I wish you all the best. Thank you for all your blood, sweat, and tears. So many memorable SR's. It was nice to see Haynes have a solid final game with a few catches. I wish we had used Saylor more against EWU. I loved seeing Kevin Berland get a TD against the Cats.
Tonga Takai, what a presence in the middle, and the interception against the Cats was something I will never forget.
Wags, what a dominating force out of nowhere. Terrific Sr year, despite being held almost every damn play. I always expected Wags to make a big play.
Hermy, when healthy you were a terrific safety. I appreciate your heart, desire, and hard hitting the last 2 seasons. I wish GRIZ NATION could have seen you play healthy your whole career. The injuries, many of which we won't hear of, kept you from playing to your potential. I will never forget your 3 picks against the Cats.
Canada- it was a joy to watch you evolve as a complete running back. Not many better than you. Terrific pass blocker and play maker.
Van- you gave us some of the most breathtaking plays often in a few years. Your cuts and ability to accelerate so quickly will never be forgotten. I hope you take being a slot WR, combo HB seriously, you have some great skills, may your health allow for that chance.
Trevor Poole- sorry that back problems cut your career short. When healthy you were terrific.
Logan and Jordan Hines- thanks for doing your best to keep a young OL together in your SR year, and your leadership.
Trevor Rehm- you are the epitome of why Montana GRIZ football is something to cherish. Another player who could have played elsewhere with a scholarship at a lesser level. Yet your love and passion for GRIZ football brought you to the GRIZ. So glad that you had the courage too bust your ass for something better. I will miss your attitude and desire.
Shay Smithwick-Hann, your attitude and leadership in accepting the difficult back up qb role will never be as known or respected as it should be. Thanks for always preparing like the man, and being as true of a team player as one could ever expect.
Jamaal Anderson- personally, I wish we had seen at safety more. Loved your passion, desire, and attitude in the always over looked special teams.
Joshua Dennard- your play was a big reason why the GRIZ pass defense improved so dramatically. Also I hope you are passing down your hard hits and no fear attitude onto future GRIZ DB's.
You all will be missed. I have faith you all will represent the GRIZ, and Montana very well no matter where life takes you all. I do hope to see some of you return as GRIZ coaches in the future years. Thank you again.
