Just think, we used to play like that before innovation and genius.
Innovation and genius allowed us to beat them this year, one of 5 teams in the last 75 games to do so. Mix in a little better recruiting, and I think we can knock them out of the saddle for good! :thumb:

If you take a look at how the Bison have recruited the last four years, you will find out they aren't going anywhere. Absolutely loaded. Jealous is an understatement.

And it only makes sense to take a more conservative, TOP-oriented approach when you're the biggest, fastest team on the field - why get risky when you can play conservative and win? That's what some Griz fans have to understand. Stitt's system allows us to compete with these guys (on a neutral field - I do think the Bison Dome got to us a bit), and if we can reduce the size gap, our chances will be even better.

One might even think that Stitt's system allows us to beat a team like the T-Buffs. Time will tell, but I think it cane done.

a high flying passing team with a solid defense can' t beat the likes of the smash mouth, lights out, over powering dominance the Bison have. They absolutely control the tempo of the game. You must stop their power game and beat their defense with your power game. I don't see anyone doing that for a while.

They remember the games played in December.

High power passing offenses might be fun for video games, but smash mouth football usually wins when it matters in real football.

I'll be in Missoula for hunting next year during Cat Griz. If someone can lend me a Griz shit, I'll help you guys cheer against those cowards from Bozeman. Still pissed about 2013. Those guys and going to get pounded the next time NDSU plays them.
Why spelling is important. Be careful what you ask for.

Normally one doesn't expect the return of a shit. I'm sure someone will be happy to donate one...
So all of a sudden you give a shit.

We play them every year as they're one of our two Big Sky "rivals" in scheduling. The way the schedule works means every BSC team has two teams they play every year and they rotate amongst the other schools.

Watching them dominate everyone in the playoffs makes me feel a LITTLE better about how they dominated the Griz as well....but the flip side is, it just shows how much further ahead they are of every other team in the FCS right now. And it's really not even close. 5 straight NC's. 5 straight playoff seasons without an away game. Remember when other fans used to give the Griz shit about not being able to play away from WA/Griz?

Go Griz and win the Big Sky next year...cheering for the Griz to get back to traditional levels (top 5). Don't you dare let the fucking hawks win the big sky next year...go bison and go griz...the best programs in the FCS.

You make it sound like we could swap teams, and if NDSU just followed the smash mouth football "strategy" you'd still be 5-time champions. But in one of your previous comments on this thread you acknowledge the Griz need to get bigger in the trenches.

We can all agree that bigger teams can win with smash mouth, but we should also acknowledge that smaller teams can win with passing offenses. Bill Walsh did it in San Francisco and Lavell Edwards did it at BYU. The passing offenses arguably require a higher level of execution, but it can be done - and it's pretty effing cool when it happens, because a smaller team isn't supposed to win championships. But hey, I'm all for us getting bigger, and I think Stitt is doing his darndest to make it happen. :thumb:

Don't understand why peeps dislike NDSU. They're an ordinary program doing extraordinary things. No SEC transfer bulls!t and full of a lot of blue collar guys. Remind you of anyone?

You'll never see a run like this in your life so what is there not to like? Unless we're in their way I hope they keep the streak going.

I respect their program and most their fans. Unfortunately, too much of a certain few fans of theirs makes it tough for some other fans to root for them. It is a matter of time before their biggest jerk off fan makes his appearance here.

But you can say that for any football program in the country. Some of the worst fans I've ever seen have been Griz fans.

True. Respecting the team and their accomplishments is separate from respecting their fan base. That is very hard to do as the one over shadows the other

Congrats to NDSU, no hate here, only respect. Very seldom at any level of football is it this consistent, very well coached and executed. Dominant football, don't feel so bad about our loss now.

Totally, and I feel even better about our win on the main stage!

Ummm... when did you win on the main stage?

Ohhh... you are talking about that smoke laden preseason game.

Nice try.

I still don't think preseason games are considered main stage.

ESPN does one game in all of FCS every year to start out the season, one week early, so from a FCS perspective probably as main stage as it will get. First college football game of the year, no other games on that day. I'd say pretty main stage.

I would say that Kansas St. on Fox Sports 1 was pretty main stage, considering KState was renaming the stadium and came off a #4 ranking the year before.

Does anybody know how many games Kansas State won that season? I don't know where to find that information on the Internet because I'm 85 years old.
