Great finish, great coach.

I am hopeful by this time next year, we are as excited about Bobcat basketball as you guys are about the Griz right now.

Quite frankly, I'm sick of the "powers that be" being satisfied with less-than-mediocre results from our program, and it could not have been more obvious than in yesterday's game.

Anyway, congrats Griz.

I found it interesting that the Chronicle today makes Casey Durham the scapegoat with Jeff Welsh doing a column on the father/son thing...

Casey didn't lose the game. Yeah, 3 turnovers hurt but he also went 4-8 from behind the 3 pt line. No, Beye didn't help by fouling out, poor defense late and bad shot selection led to the loss, as well as a good effort and heart by the Griz...

Typical stuff over here...

Three obvious differences between the programs make the Griz better:

1. The Griz don't rely on the three pointer.

2. The Griz defend and rebound for 40 minutes.

3. The Griz don't have guys looking to get "their own".

Game, set, match.

Well evident when Bryan passed to Virgil for that slam, at that point i know the game was over and Bryan was our new point guard!

Gato,

My two cents. I have always thought Mick was a pretty decent recruiter, but I have never thought he was a good "bench coach". He doesn't see the game for anything but a perimeter game, and as the saying goes, "live by the 3 , die by the 3". Last night was a case in point.

I have seen similar things on Durham's job being in jeopardy over the years. He is now something like 14-21 against the Griz. Do you honestly think they (Cat AD) would ever let him go? I think Mick will be your head coach as long as he wants to be there, unless there is a major scandal. I don't think Mick will ever be involved in one of those. He has always reminded me of Wally Cleaver, polite, hair always in place, good guy.

I think most Griz fans would rather see him stay to be honest.
