A huge difference in a poster who had concerns, voiced them, and can come back and say “maybe I had it wrong”. Good on you for that. He will never do that. Ever. He just wants to poop on the Griz every chance he gets. I wish he’d root for the cats instead to be honest.

He does.

He's incapable of rooting for anyone. He's the Evelyn Harper of egriz. No matter what anyone says he can find a dark side to it. For example, if you said you were there when the Griz beat Furman for the Natty, he would say "you barely only beat them by a touchdown?" or "you had to let the shutout slip away in the last minute" or "let me know when the Griz go on an NDSDUesk winning streak in the Natty"

They all do with this guy. Remember how he said we were going to finish in sixth or seventh place again. He said this season was literally over after the NAU game.

Is Vidlak still the best QB at UM since Jordy?

;)

Since you’re talking about comments aging well and that was on the first page of this thread, just had to do it!
As far as arm talent goes, yes. As we've seen, that's not the only thing that matters.

Better arm than Roper? No way.

In terms of flat out spinning it, yes. In terms of pocket presence, not yet. This O line did not help Sam out much either. Cliff is much better at running for his life.

I don't know exactly what transpired, but maybe the THREAT of him running forces defenses to change they way they attack? Or the scheme changed enough that the O-line has done a better job of protecting? Not sure, but it rarely seems like he's running "for his life" out there anymore...

Big Clif is money on 3rd down.

Since NAU he's converted 19 of 40 3rd downs with his arm and an astounding 13 of 19 with his legs.

When you've got a guy that single handedly converts 54% of 3rd downs by himself, defenses are gonna be stressed, and that's without him really playing a perfect game as a passer. If he keeps getting better, he's gonna be extremely dangerous.

this one aged well.

I bet six or seven of his nom de plumes were even more harsh in their criticisms. You know, just keepin’ it real…

We win primarily by having a great defense. Several games this season were defense wins. In the Furman game, we lose in regulation if not for Bergen's two ST touchdowns. Same thing happened last year in our first playoff game against SEMO. If not for the two ST touchdowns, our offense does not score enough to get the win. McDowell is serviceable, and his running ability is a plus, but he is not close to being in the league of some of our great QBs. But, as always.... thanks for playing.

No, I'm just very knowledgeable about the game of football, and I am objective, and not a homer like 90% of the posters here. I get it, and just laugh at the comments exposing those I refer to. Alpha was the same, and took the same heat. It goes with being honest and not just a clueless fan who can't be objective.

I should noted that I posted that Ah Yat threw the best passes in fall practice. Look it up.

9-0.

So what is your objective take now on this Griz team, its players, and its staff?

You went off on them daily for weeks and weeks and how terrible all of them were and how we will never win a conference chipper let alone go deep into playoffs with our current staff and players. Where are you on all of that now, ya know, since you’re so knowledgeable and objective. Can you admit Hauck made incredible changes to the staff? Can you admit that he and his staff have exceeded all expectations? Can you admit that the current line up of players is much better than you thought it would be? Would love your honest objective take now.

He gave his “objective” take about 4 posts up. Disregards 9-0 and still thinks the team is mediocre, essentially. Especially the QB.

Actually, you said that Brown was looking the best. And, in this post, you didn't mention Ah Yat.

"Has Sam looked good in practice? Yes. He throws a nice ball, and seems to be pretty accurate. But, so does Brown in practice. In fact, I would argue the Kris has looked the best of the three QBs in practice."

Yes I did, and I stand by it. That was when cam was a junior. Brown's problem was in his head, not in his arm. my evaluation was strictly based upon practice and scrimmages. I have no way of knowing that Brown did not have the mental make-up to excel at QB.

When Cam was a junior???? You mean, like 5 years ago?

2020, Kris was a RS frosh. Your point is??? I'm sure you remember the Covid game where Brown looked much better than Cam. Might have been against PSU.

The post I quoted was from early August 2023. You were talking about Brown, Vidlak and McDowell.
